What's the origins of the "Wraparound" fixture? First designed in the 1940s and 50s, wraparound fixtures featured a long tubular fluorescent lamp enclosed in a diffuser that wrapped around the fixture. This design emerged as a way to maximize the efficiency of fluorescent fixtures: by encasing the light source in a wide, wrap-like diffuser, these lights could provide high light output and broad coverage with minimal glare.
