I'm thrilled to share that I've joined the FullWell team as VP of Marketing! FullWell is the only reproductive nutrition supplement company founded, formulated, and led by a registered dietitian and fertility expert, the brilliant Ayla Barmmer, MS, RD, LDN. I couldn't be luckier to work with Ayla, Chelsea (Clements) Mays, Julianka Bell, MS, RD, and our amazing, powerhouse all-female(!) team to help foster a more nourished world for generations to come. This role is deeply personal for me because, as a mom of two, I intimately understand the challenges of getting to, through, and recovering from pregnancy. What I didn't know before starting at FullWell is how much I (and we as a community) truly don't know about reproductive health or the critical role that nutrition plays in it, regardless of life stage. TLDR: what we don't know isn't doing us any favors, I wish I had known a lot more, and we aren't doing enough to care for it. I can't wait to share more about FullWell with the world. It's been an incredible few months already, and we're just getting started. Getting pregnant is hard. Pregnancy is hard. Postpartum is hard. Even if it goes perfectly, which it never does, it's hard on you both physically and mentally. I've got two girls and had two very different pregnancies with two very different sets of needs before, during, and postpartum. To meet these needs, I (like so many others) had to personally seek out help beyond my primary medical team, because there were no tools or services in place to help moms navigate the complexities of finding qualified experts with perinatal experience. It was a pleasure listening to Meghan Doyle from Partum Health last Friday share how they are working to change this experience for the better, including partnering with Family Connects International to build a more integrated, comprehensive, evidence-based care experience both virtually, in-home, and on-site beyond the OB or hospital setting. Every mom/mom-to-be should have access to the care and support she needs during this journey, regardless of location or income status, as it's proven to improve positive outcomes. Here's to a more supported, joyful journey for all!

💡 The state of women in the workplace today and in the future is an economic issue, not a social one. Two days ago I had the opportunity to virtually attend the Moms First inaugural #MomsFirstSummit, and while there were so many incredible insights shared, one thing in particular stood out to me. I keep coming back to Reshma Saujani's conversation with Hilary Clinton where Hilary shared that, in order to give women the tools and support they need to make decisions about working and having kids, we need to look at the issue as an economic one vs. a social one. Economic decisions are at the core of our choices around if/when to have children, if/when to return to work after having kids, and how to handle childcare. Right now, it's more expensive than ever to have kids, paid leave is severely lacking, childcare support is basically nonexistent, and most families require two incomes to survive. But culturally we've politicized women's choices as a social issue, which leads to little/no progress vs. actively getting women the support we need at a macro level to make better decisions. Hearing the conversation with Hilary was a lightbulb moment for me, and I'd wager that I'm not alone. And while I am thrilled that there are so many advocates for change out there pushing this forward from a policy perspective like the team at Mom's First, when I think about the challenge at hand through a marketing lens, change happens when a movement in culture forces the issue. Reshma Saujani Molly Day it feels like it's time to add another layer to the incredible foundation for change that you're building, fueled by marketing, to rally our collective voices and demand that we are heard so our needs are addressed. I believe that, if we work to shift the perspective of the masses so that women everywhere understand the economic implications of not having the national support we need to thrive in today's environment, we can push for meaningful change across culture and policy. This Netflix deal with the National Football League (NFL) has the opportunity to be epic if Netflix can harness the power of the fans. The landscape - to date, streaming platforms have not been able to drive meaningful value to fans beyond baseline access to game content - having strong commentators and dynamic data/stats is table stakes and investment in supporting individual fan bases around games has been minimal at best. The fans - people are not fans of football/the NFL, they are fans of their specific teams and players, which means they expect any company that plays in the space to come in and add value to their experience that's specific to their team's culture, rituals, and values. The opportunity - go beyond the stream to bring a team-specific experience to Kansas City Chiefs, Pittsburgh Steelers, Baltimore Ravens, and Houston Texans fans that leans into the unique attributes of each base, making the day a true celebration of why we love the sport so much. As we wrap up Mother’s Day weekend, I wanted to share some reflections on my time as a working mom and highlight some universal themes that many of us are navigating. TL;DR - the struggle is very real, but, despite perceived bias, moms bring incredible value to organizations as employees and leaders! 1. I’ve never been more productive - being a mom forces you to become hyper-efficient because you have limited time - let’s be honest, the concept of time blocking should 100% be attributed to working moms. The best work I’ve done in my career has happened after having my kids because of the demand for clarity and focus that being a mom requires. 2. My emotional intelligence is unparalleled - I’ve learned so many incredible strategies to help nurture and grow my tiny humans that I’ve been able to apply to my teams, giving them the bandwidth and support they need to thrive even in the most toxic or challenging of environments. There’s no doubt I’m a better manager and leader now, thanks to my two girls and the hands-on learning opportunities they offer me every day. 3. The motherhood penalty is very real - whether in interviews or dynamics at work, people make assumptions that, as a mom, you aren’t as committed or available because you are also the primary parent. 4. The guilt is everpresent - there’s a constant guilt that you’re not doing enough. When I am in a demanding, full-time senior role, the guilt of missing things with my girls is constant. When I’m consulting, there's no shortage of guilt from feeling like I'm not doing enough professionally. Every mom I know who works (including as a full-time caretaker of her kids), battles with guilt every day, and it weighs on all of us. 5. We need more allies - so many of us as individuals have spoken out about barriers and challenges and value, but it’s time for workplaces to embrace the true value a working mom brings to the table. This means: ✨ Stepping up to support not just better parental leave but better parental benefits beyond the pregnancy and post-partum journey. ✨ Moving beyond just selling products to parents to hiring working moms in a way that aligns with the flexibility they need to be their best at work and home - this means offering remote/flexible work and/or onsite childcare. ✨ Working to remove bias in hiring practices and the work environment to counteract the motherhood penalty. Big shout out to Moms First, Bobbie, E.L.F. BEAUTY, Erin Gallagher, The Female Quotient, and Parentaly who are doing an incredible job pushing these things forward, but there’s so much more work to be done.

TL;DR - If you aren't feeding your marketing funnel with new, interested consumers, it becomes harder and more expensive to grow. Remember how Airbnb shifted their marketing from a focus growth to a focus on brand building, which then drove profitability? I do. Now, they're at it again, creating meaningful experiences that connect with consumer passion points to build relationships and drive interest, so that when (not if) consumers are planning a trip, Airbnb will be top of mind. This week marks 6 months in my time supporting Here to Serve, Inc. on their Board of Directors. From driving a 2X increase in donations vs YAG during our EOY giving campaign, to kicking off a brand refresh and website update, and supporting a CRM platform selection and migration, it's been an incredibly rewarding journey so far and we're just getting started! At my core, I believe in what we're doing and have seen firsthand the impact we have on the daily lives of families battling pediatric cancer. These families should be empowered to focus on spending time with their kids instead of navigating complexities around obtaining resources or dealing with the physical, emotional, and financial burdens that come along with a diagnosis.
