Proactively and continuously aspire to serve customer needs, customer expectations and challenges to build trusted customer relationships and to achieve win-win agreements between AbbVie and customers Develop and execute a call plan that achieves set call metrics and optimizes coverage and frequency to key customers to maximize access and sales opportunities. Continuously build understanding on customer needs and expectations, territory market landscape, competitors, market segments/dynamics, accounts, disease, product, clinical and sales expertise and share this market intelligence information with in-field team, brand team and sales manager to achieve alignment, to anticipate environmental changes and challenges and to optimize brand strategy and its execution. Last week I caught up with a stellar Vice President of Sales at a life science tools company, managing a team of seasoned North American sales reps. "We've had the best quarter to date" - I'll be honest. I wasn't expecting to hear this 😅 We all know pharma and biotech have seen a steady decline in their clinical trial programmes and development pipelines, which in turn has led to layoffs and a consolidation process. Reduced clinical or pre-clinincal trials and experiments, mean the use of the high-throughput analysis and capital equipment reduces, and consequently re-occuring run rates of reagents and consumables too. But, what is on the up? Academic research and innovation grants - therefore life science tool providers must tailor their value-add for this traditionally viewed 'low ticket' segment, just like this sales leader did.
