@hopeforprisoners Second Chance Month:Second Chance employment is of utmost importance in our society. It offers individuals with a criminal record the opportunity to reintegrate into the workforce and rebuild their lives. By providing second chances, employers not only contribute to reducing recidivism but also promote a more inclusive and fair society. Second Chance employment allows individuals to demonstrate their skills, talents, and dedication, proving that their past mistakes do not define them. It gives them a sense of purpose, self-worth, and stability, which are crucial for successful reintegration into the community. Moreover, by offering employment opportunities to those with a criminal record, businesses and organizations gain access to a diverse pool of talent and potential employees who are often highly motivated to prove themselves. Ultimately, Second Chance employment benefits both individuals and society as a whole, fostering a more compassionate and supportive community #careeremployment #secondchances #letsgo www.hopeforprisoners.org

What a great day with young people from across the western region talking and initiating action on topics that matter most to them. Brimbank young people, supported by Brimbank City Council Youth Servies, focused on youth unemployment, the higher rate for young people in the west and links to mental health and well-being. It was fantastic to have the Hon. Natalie Suleyman MP who holds both the Youth and Small Business portfolios there to hear direct from young people about this and a range of important topics from the other western region councils. Young people from across the west generously shared their personal experiences and insights into looking for work and experiences in employment to help us build our understanding and come up with practical local actions. I heard: - that young people can be taken advantage of in work places, not getting paid what they should, not getting paid at all - work doesn’t always align with their families, or their own, values and focus on prioritising study and a future career. But this can be a disadvantage when they don’t have work experiences - flexible and paid employment is rarely available in a field they’d like to pursue a career in - young people have soft and transferable skills that they aren’t always aware of and don’t know to use these to gain employment And so much more. Some opportunities to share what we heard and suggested actions internally Rose Bruhn Leanne Deans Thanks for the great day! Damir Lendich Ayaan Qani Lynley Dumble

🌟 Creating Opportunities for Young People at All Saints 🌟 At BSN Group Construction, we believe in the power of opportunity. Over the past few months, we’ve had the privilege of working with the Employability Group at All Saints Community Centre in Kings Heath. These young individuals, brimming with enthusiasm and passion, face barriers to employment — barriers we are determined to help break down. Our mock interview workshops have been an incredible way to connect employers with these talented young people. Feedback from our first event was overwhelmingly positive, with some businesses rethinking their recruitment strategies after meeting these inspiring individuals. It’s clear: these young people want to work. They just need someone to give them a chance. Whether it’s through a mock interview or a work experience placement (paid or unpaid), your involvement could be life-changing—not just for them, but for your business too. This is your opportunity to make a real difference. If you’re interested in volunteering or offering work experience, please reach out—we’d love to have you join us in opening doors for these future stars. Together, we can help create a more inclusive workforce where everyone has the opportunity to thrive. #socialvalue #communitysupport #inclusivity #BSNgroup #workexperience #mockinterviews

Building a Great Reentry Program: A Community Effort for a Better Future In the world of reentry programs, one thing stands out: it takes great people to build something great. At its core, reentry is about more than helping justice-involved individuals; it’s about strengthening entire communities. When passionate, skilled individuals come together for a common cause—empowering people to turn their lives around—we create a ripple effect that benefits everyone. Reduced recidivism means safer neighborhoods, stronger families, and a more resilient community. The work isn’t easy, but it’s worth it. Every life restored adds value to our society. And it’s only possible when we find, recruit, and collaborate with the right people: those who believe in second chances, in the dignity of every person, and in the transformative power of opportunity. Reentry isn’t just good—it’s essential. It’s about building pathways to success and proving that, together, we can create meaningful change. ✨ If you share this vision, let’s connect! I’m always eager to collaborate, share ideas, and learn from others who are committed to helping justice-involved individuals rebuild their lives and strengthen our communities. #SouthernMissouriReentry #ReentryMatters #SecondChances #CommunityImpact #JusticeInvolved #TogetherWeCan
