Multisystem of Generalist Social Worker - Working with the Micro Level system entails interventions focused on individuals, families, or small groups to promote changes in personal functioning, social relationships, and interactions with social and institutional resources. On the other hand, working with the Mezzo Level system involves creating changes within task groups, teams, organizations, and service delivery networks, while working with the Macro Level system addresses social issues within communities, institutions, and society as a whole. Meanwhile, working within the Social Work Profession involves activities reflecting professional identity, defining professional relationships, shifting priorities within the profession, or reorganizing service delivery systems, such as supporting social work licensure and legal practice regulations. This ensures the competence of social workers and their active engagement within the social work profession system. #MicroLevel #MezzoLevel #MacroLevel #SocialWorks #GeneralistSocialWorkPractice

Myth: Social service employees, caseworkers, and volunteers are "social workers." Truth: In the realm of social services, a social worker stands as a trained professional with a bachelor's, master's, or doctoral degree in social work. They operate under state licensure or regulatory standards to ensure quality service delivery. It's important to note that individuals who aren't formally educated in social work, such as social service employees, caseworkers, or volunteer community workers, aren't considered "social workers." While their contributions are valuable, the title of "social worker" is reserved for those who have completed formal education in social work. This emphasizes the specialized skills and ethical standards that define the practice of social work professionals. Ultimately, social workers are dedicated to promoting social justice and supporting individuals, families, and communities with compassion and expertise.

Employment + housing is a health and wellbeing intervention
“Having employment support integrated with housing support is a smart way to combine strengths and see results for a person and their whānau. We know that our evidence-based approach works.” In the past three years, more than 400 people in Housing First programmes received assistance from Workwise to successfully secure 127 jobs, with 61% of these being full-time work. On top of this, people took up 55 other study, work experience or volunteer placements. Workwise is proud to be part of a Wise Group collaboration with The People’s Project and LinkPeople - integrating housing and IPS employment support services in Hamilton, Tauranga and more recently, South Auckland. Many vacancies are currently available at Cardiff Community Housing Association, from IT to service charges, to building surveyors to technical maintenance assistants. You might wonder whether working in #socialhousing is for you. Let me tell you why it might not be! 🤣 ⚖ Work-life balance: We work very hard for all the families we serve but we also ensure that we are properly recharged to deliver the best possible service. Working in social housing is not for you if you prefer burnout and lack of sleep. 💵 Money: Salaries here are decent. However, we are not an investment bank, so if you want to work 70 hours per week and claim 'top dollar,' social housing won't be for you. We look at compensations more holistically, making sure that our colleagues save for their retirement, get enough annual leave, and can save on their daily shopping. We do not penalise anyone for being ill and ensure everyone can access medical advice, mental health support and counselling services. 👯 Collaboration: We collaborate and listen to each other. If you prefer to be a lone wolf who ignores others, then social housing is definitely not for you. 🥂 Achievements: We celebrate each other's successes. Your colleague's success is as important as your own. Together, we do! Social housing won't be for you if you don't get joy from others' achievements. 😎 Fun: Working hard is exhausting, so it is important to have some fun along the way. We like our social gatherings, where we laugh a lot and find ways to make each other smile. 📒 Development: We strive to be better, do better, and know better. Social housing provides endless opportunities for learning and development. This industry might not be for you if you are a 'know it all' type. So, do you want to work in #socialhousing? #madeinsocialhousing #jobs
