Large company vs Small/Medium Sized company Throughout most of my career in recruitment there have always been a high % of candidates that tell me they only want to work for "Tier 1's". Now there are a lot of reasons I hear for this but the main one normally is around job security, and in light of recent events I think its clear to see that working for the big boys doesn't necessarily mean you're safe! There are some cracking small-to-medium sized contractors out there, some that you've probably never even heard of that are run by some decent people, the sort that you don't mind putting in a little extra effort for because you know they will look after you. I'm looking for Estimators, Project/Contracts Managers, Site Managers, Surveyors and TSM's for a few of these at the moment, all with starts this side of Xmas. Unfortunately,Such disgusting attitude seems to be a common one with most of them and I don’t know what the hell is wrong with a decent msg to say sorry we cannot proceed with u for such reason and good luck in yr career!! One of them once tried to justify saying that they receive many applications and they cannot find time to answer all of them .. I simply told him wrong my friend , u find time to contact in the first place , why can’t u find time to come back to me in any case from the point of view of curtesy , cridibility and respect of professionality ? In the end , my advice is to keep ur cv safe .. most of them are even fake or pretenders in this site!
