"This is a great service that we should recommend to our families. I remember from my time in practice when I would give families a diagnosis (e.g., autism) and they would go home and be lost. A coach can help the families navigate the challenges." - A Director of Behavioral Health Sign up today: https://brightlife.kids/ca

As an advocate of sexual assault survivors, it's crucial we address the fact that juvenile offenders constitute over one-third of those known for committing sexual offenses against minors. This statistic isn't just a number—it's a call to action for early intervention and comprehensive education on respect, consent, and healthy interpersonal relationships. We must champion proactive measures that equip our young people with knowledge and empathy, helping them understand the consequences of their actions. Investing in early education and creating supportive environments can prevent harmful behaviors and promote accountability among our youth. Let's unite in fostering a culture that guides our young towards positive growth and safety, ensuring a future where every child can thrive in a community that nurtures and protects them. For a resource that addresses this topic for young and old the book I authored Help Me Tell Finding Your Voice After Trauma is a great resource to be utilized in schools, counseling offices, churches and more. https://lnkd.in/gNdkemzG #YouthEmpowerment #SexualViolencePrevention #CommunitySafety #EducationalReform #saam #sexualassualtawareness

DO YOU KNOW? The Yavapai Justice and Mental Health Coalition values the opportunities that our supporting justice partners, service agencies and individual members offer to our community. We acknowledge the challenges that some people face when struggling with unmet mental health and substance abuse needs and understand that these challenges have the potential for people to intersect with the criminal justice system. We have come together as a coalition because we want our community to know that we have hope. It is our pledge that our holistic, collaborative efforts will provide multiple opportunities for lives to transform; that, together, we are building a foundation for the future and stories of success. We know that collectively we are building a healthy and safe community. OUR STRATEGIC PLAN: -Improve cross-system collaboration to reduce involvement in the justice system by people with behavioral health disorders. -Increase behavioral health access to children, youth, and families within the schools and the juvenile justice system. -Improve the T36 /COE / COT process to better serve the needs of the Yavapai community. -Maintain an understanding of statewide legislation and policies that could affect or contribute to building a healthy and safe community. Just attended a game-changing webinar on adolescent substance abuse by Mercy University's IHELP department. 🌟 As a parent and future therapist, this was a major eye-opener! 🚨 Shocked by the teen trends in nicotine, alcohol, and marijuana use. It's crucial we start these conversations early. Learned so much about the dire consequences of substance abuse, which has totally reshaped how I'll talk to my kids about it. 💡 Early intervention and the S2BI strategy are key. It's about open, non-judgmental dialogue. 🗣️ This session has massively boosted my understanding and approach as a parent and LMHC student. Ready to make a difference! 🌱 #AdolescentHealth #SubstanceAbuseAwareness #ParentingTips #FutureTherapist #LMHCStudent #EarlyIntervention #OpenCommunication #S2BIStrategy #MercyUniversity #IHELPWebinar #TeenHealth #DrugAwareness #EducationalSession #ParentalGuidance #TherapistInTraining #MentalHealthMatters #CommunitySupport #YouthEmpowerment #InformedChoices #PreventativeCare #FamilyWellness #HealthyDevelopment #TeenSupport #AwarenessRaising #EmpathyFirst #ChildPsychology

The Texas Health and Human Services Office of Forensic Coordination partnered with the Texas Institute for Excellence in Mental Health to publish a new resource for juvenile justice and behavioral health stakeholders to help develop strategies for youth involved with or at risk of involvement with the juvenile justice system. This literature review provides an overview of the development of the Texas Youth Sequential Intercept Model (SIM), describes diversion best practices originating from the four cornerstones of the Critical Intervention Model, and provides examples of best practice programs and intervention for each of the Texas Youth SIM Intercepts.https://https://lnkd.in/gqdf2Vvu
