I ran across America (to end youth homelessness). Now I run a pet treat company, @Treat Collective to Make A Difference in your pet, in our planet and in the lives of youth experiencing homelessness.
Night run? Where would you run to if you found yourself without a safe place to call home? Where would you run to if you needed a safe place to call home in the dark of the night? Maybe you have a place in mind. Now imagine 12 year old you. Where would you run to in your community in the dark of night for a safe place to call home? Grandmas house? Your friends couch? A creek bed hidden in the woods? For too many of the 4.2 million youth experiencing homelessness across the US this is more than a question it’s a present reality? Where do I run tonight? Tonight, on Runstreak Day 1342 I’m running in the night asking, where do the youth in my community run when they need help. I hope you’ll join me in asking and searching for the resources in your community. If there is already a safe place for young people to run to please ask yourself how you can best support this program. If a safe place to run doesn’t exist then it’s our responsibility to #makeadifference and provide a place to Love, Equip, & Guide At-Promise Children & Youth. #runstreak #Jesus #inspiration #motivation #endhomelessness #endure #strength #courage #legacy #awareness #advocacy #alliances #advancement #night #dark #nightrun #safeplace #endyouthhomelessness a few places you should run out and support Covenant House International Covenant House California Safe Place (National Program) Artists Helping The Homeless

Today is Youth Homelessness Matters Day, a day that celebrates young peoples' resilience and an important day of advocacy. At STREAT, we’re privileged to work with young people, of which, 45% have past or present experience of homelessness. As a social enterprise, we put the profits from every cup of coffee you buy at our cafes into life-changing Youth Programs, run by our dedicated team. Be a part of the change, grab a STREAT coffee. Learn more on our website: buff.ly/3Jmzahy And this is our quote of the week from one young person who has been through our programs: "Don't make the same mistakes I did. Be more confident, inspire people to do something with their lives and help people realise there is life after homelessness." #yhmd2024 #youthhomelessnessmatters

Join us in shedding light on a harsh reality: homelessness isn't just about sleeping on the streets. Many silently struggle, living in substandard conditions, lacking basic necessities. At Admighty Foundation, we recognize that "living rough" extends beyond physical spaces; it's about the deprivation of dignity and opportunity. Our mission? To uplift lives globally through holistic support in Health, Education, and Environment. Together, let's rewrite the narrative, break the stigma, and extend a compassionate hand to those in need. Whether it's access to healthcare, quality education, or a safe environment, everyone deserves a chance to thrive. Let's stand united in creating a world where no one has to endure the hardships of "living rough." #AdmightyFoundation #EndHomelessness #Empowerment #GlobalImpact Boulder Shelter for the Homeless Midwest Shelter for Homeless Veterans, Inc. As we continue to highlight that housing is essential for every human being, we must also understand the complexities of being unhoused. One of the fastest-growing populations suffering from homelessness is seniors. With inflation impacting everyone, it hits those on fixed incomes the hardest. What saddens me most is that as you age, your body starts to decline. Can you imagine being homeless with limited access to medical care and nowhere to heal from your medical conditions? Through Medi-Cal reform, temporary solutions like Post-Hospitalization funding can provide individuals with temporary housing as they heal, while simultaneously working towards permanent housing solutions to ensure they do not return to homelessness. Let’s spend more time being understanding and take action to help our fellow man.
May is #OlderAmericansMonth, a time to recognize older Americans' contributions and reaffirm commitments to serving the older adults in our communities. This year's theme is "Powered by Connection," meant to recognize the massive impact meaningful relationships and social connections have on our health and well-being. Did you know nearly one quarter of people experiencing homelessness in 2023 in the U.S. were 55 or older? That number is expected to grow exponentially by 2030, with many of these people experiencing homelessness for the first time. Homeless services recognize the healing power of social connections. What organizations support older Americans experiencing homelessness through fostering social connection and enrichment? 👇 Let us know in the comments! 👉 And then click here to learn more about elder homelessness and access the Council's resources on the topic: https://lnkd.in/gm6-pRRv
