🍂 Did You Know? 🍂 September is here, which means fall is just around the corner! With autumn’s arrival, you’ll soon start seeing the first signs of the season—falling leaves. While many of us see this as just another chore, did you know that leaving those leaves on your lawn can actually benefit your yard? Dead leaves play a crucial role in the natural cycle of plants and soil. As they decay, they return essential carbon to the soil, promoting healthy microbial activity. Removing leaves from this cycle can actually harm your soil’s health. So, what should you do with all those leaves? Instead of raking them up and tossing them out, consider mulching them and spreading them evenly across your yard. Mulched leaves can also be piled around the bases of trees or on top of flower beds to insulate the soil during winter, protecting the vital microbes beneath. If mulching isn’t your thing, think about composting those leaves instead of throwing them away. And if your city doesn’t offer composting facilities, why not start a compost bin at home? It’s a great way to give back to the earth! #FallIsComing #Sustainability #Composting #HealthySoil #EcoFriendlyTips

🌿 The Power of Plants! 🌿 Have you ever stopped to think about how vital plants are to our lives? From the air we breathe to the food we eat, plants play an essential role in maintaining the reasons why we should all appreciate our green friends: 🌱 𝗢𝘅𝘆𝗴𝗲𝗻 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: Through photosynthesis, plants release oxygen, the gas we need to breathe. 🌍 🌳 𝗖𝗹𝗶𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗥𝗲𝗴𝘂𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: Trees and plants absorb carbon dioxide, helping to mitigate climate change. 🌡️ 🍎 𝗙𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝗦𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗰𝗲:Plants form the foundation of our food chain, providing fruits, vegetables, grains, and more! 🌽 💧 𝗪𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗖𝘆𝗰𝗹𝗲: Plants play a crucial role in maintaining the water cycle by absorbing and redistributing water. 💦 🏡 𝗛𝗮𝗯𝗶𝘁𝗮𝘁: They provide shelter and food for countless wildlife species. 🦋 🌸 𝗠𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵: Studies show that being around plants can reduce stress and improve mood. 🌼 Let's take a moment to appreciate and protect our planet's green life. Plant a tree, start a garden, or simply enjoy a walk in nature. Every small action counts! 🌏💚 #PlantPower #GoGreen #NatureLovers #EcoFriendly #SustainableLiving #LoveNature #GreenLife

Today is #EarthDay! 🌎 Here are five simple ways we can all support a healthy planet for generations to come: 💧 Conduct a home water leak test; a leaking toilet can waste up to 200,000 litres of water per year but go almost unnoticed 🥄 Reduce your waste by using reusable water bottles, mugs, grocery bags, straws and cutlery 🥫 Shop your pantry, fridge and freezer and use a grocery list to waste less food 🚌 Take transit, walk or cycle to your destination 🔍 Use Bindicator to find the best way to reuse or dispose of items you no longer need ❓What else can we add to this list? Share how you celebrate our planet and protect our environment in the comments. Long weekend ahead. Mostly, when we are home we get lazy, and tend to waste our natural resources, by taking long showers, cooking more food items, and stuffing our bellies with food that we don't really need. This three-weekend could be your chance to start living a more sustainable life. Assess your house, look for any leakages in the water pipes, or a light bulb that gets lit, but serves no purpose. These little steps can go a long way. #happyclimatehappyus
