🌟✈️ 𝗔𝗿𝗲 𝗔𝗶𝗿𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝗙&𝗕 𝗣𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗲𝘀 𝗗𝗲𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗦𝗵𝗼𝗽𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗢𝗳 𝗗𝘂𝘁𝘆 𝗙𝗿𝗲𝗲? ✈️ Ever felt a shock at the prices of airport snacks? Travelling through Palma airport (PMI) this weekend, one of our team went to grab some food and a drink and got quite a shock. In the main F&B outlet, the cost of a sandwich, drink, and snack was a whopping €18.60. This is versus just €4.28 downtown! That's quite a difference. 😱 💼 Are these inflated prices impacting shopper perception? At almost €20 for a snack and a drink it's easy to see why shoppers think airport prices are expensive. 🚫 High airport food costs shouldn't leave a bad taste in shoppers' mouths or overshadow the appeal of duty-free deals. 🛍️✨ #AirportPrices #DutyFree #Travelretail #airportshopping 

Pondering the cost of an airport pint. My last post on the sky high prices of food & beverage in many airports got a lot of mixed reaction, with some condemning and others defending. The consensus was you must pay higher prices in airports, but there should be limits. To continue the debate, I recommend reading this interesting investigation into the price of airport beer by Simple Flying, which is led by the revelation that the incredible average price is US$12.41 for a pint of American beer at New York La Guardia Airport! This is an extreme example, with the other New York airports having an average close to $US8, which seems very reasonable for an airport environment. At Portland Airport, however, you can get a beer for less than US$5!
