Heathrow is proud to win the Innovation Champion Award 🏆 at the Mobilityways Commute Zero Hero Awards 2025, which celebrates outstanding achievements in sustainable commuting by UK workplaces. Since launching our Sustainable Travel Zone in 2022, we’ve introduced more sustainable travel options for over 80,000 colleagues – enhancing bus and coach services, promoting active travel and car sharing, and expanding public transport and cycling discounts for Team Heathrow.  And it's working! 🚲🚆🚗 Our 2024 colleague travel survey shows solo car commutes have dropped to 54% – down from 62% in 2017, despite our growing workforce. A big thank you to all colleagues and our Heathrow Surface Access Strategy Team for helping us make sustainable travel the norm! 🙌 Read more ➡️ https://lnkd.in/dz-n8z7P (Pictured from left to right: Matthew Wooll, Rathish Ramachandran, Tim Leech and Akash Dutta)

We’re committed to addressing the sustainability challenges that we face, one decision at a time. Watch our video to hear more ⬇️   #Sustainability #NetZero

This National Apprenticeship Week has been a fantastic celebration. As someone who started their career as an apprentice, I'm proud that Heathrow's announcement, alongside Sarah Jones, of accelerated investment to deliver economic growth across the UK, will help facilitate more apprenticeships in every nation and region of the country.   I was delighted to meet one of our current apprentices, Daniel Fernandes, on Heathrow's Shared Apprenticeship Scheme with Turner & Townsend and K10 Apprenticeships Limited, in Scunthorpe earlier this week where I signed the UK Steel charter and Heathrow committed to supporting thousands more like him.

One of our supply chain partners, VolkerFitzpatrick Ltd, has been instrumental in helping us provide real-world opportunities for our apprentices. Their commitment to nurturing new talent has helped many apprentices gain valuable skills and we are delighted to shine a spotlight on them today.
