Today marks #WorldMenopauseDay and we want ensure menopause isn't a barrier for anyone to feel confident and empowered to do their job. At Heathrow we're committed to supporting our colleagues going through menopause by providing safe spaces, our comprehensive wellbeing offer and menopause guidance.   Having an open and ongoing conversation is critical to destigmatising menopause and that's why Heathrow's Altitude Network invited five of our male senior leaders from around the business to wear Over The Bloody Moon's Menovests. We're relaunching our annual Business Summit with a new theme of Thriving Together, Making an Airport Fit for the Future. The 26th Business Summit will take place on the 14th November and will provide the opportunity to promote economic growth in our local community for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs), suppliers, and Heathrow's strategic partners. We’re delighted to have become members of the Black Country Chamber of Commerce. Heathrow spends almost £100m every year in the West Midlands and yesterday we had the pleasure of meeting a number of our suppliers including Zaun Limited. We’re proud to be working with Black Country businesses like Zaun, who are innovating and decarbonising to ensure UK manufacturing remains globally competitive.

Yesterday evening we lit up our terminals in blue and pink to coincide with the global "Wave of Light" initiative set up by Baby Loss Awareness Week.   Heathrow's colleague sPaCe network (Supporting Parents and Carers Everywhere) has worked to sensitively mark this important week with a series of events and initiatives, including developing guidance for colleagues with our Altitude network and hosting a "Tea & Talk” event supported by charities Sands - baby loss charity and Aching Arms UK - the baby loss charity. Our September traffic figures are in and with almost 7.3 million passengers travelling through Heathrow last month, we're delighted to confirm it was our busiest September ever! Last week, we announced the winners of this year’s 2024 #HealthandSafety Awards, following the enormous success of UK #Airports #HealthandSafety Week. We would like to extend our congratulations to the winners Heathrow (large airport), Cardiff Airport (Cardiff & St Athan) (medium), and Cornwall Airport Newquay (small), as well as those highly commended: Bristol Airport, Birmingham Airport, London City Airport, and Farnborough Airport. Last week Heathrow participated in the Official IPATA Group Conference, marking a significant milestone as we became the first UK airport to join IPATA as official members. As the only UK port equipped to handle all animal species safely - supported by our border control posts and partners such as HARC, Airpets and Animal Aircare - we are dedicated to setting the standard for excellence in animal transportation. We were pleased to unveil at the conference a new animal relief initiative championed by Passenger Experience Manager Maria Masselot IOSH.
