Did you know? Two-thirds (64%) of LGBTQ+ people have experienced anti-LGBT+ violence or abuse. As an organisation committed to raising standards in Parking, that's one of the reasons our Safer Parking Scheme, which includes our Park Mark accreditation, Park Mark Plus, Park Mark Freight, Park Access, and soon to be our Approved Meet and Greet operator schemes are so important. These schemes focus on safety features in car parks like increased lighting and video surveillance to protect motorists travelling to and from their destinations, both in the day and late at night. The BPA is committed to Diversity, Equity and Inclusion across its communities, from Veterans in Parking, to Women in Parking, to Frontline Officers, and Disabled Motorists, to LGBTQ+ motorists, and beyond... all motorists deserve to park safely. That's why we want to wish our network a happy Pride Month, in parking and beyond. If you would like to plan your safer journey, visit our Park Mark Car Park Finder to see our Park Mark accredited sites. #PrideMonth #HappyPrideMonth #DE&I #SaferParking

In our latest episode of the Everything You Know About Disability Is Wrong podcast, we had the pleasure of sitting down with the wonderful Spencer West! Spencer, a global keynote speaker, content creator, and activist, joined hosts Erin Hawley and Lily Newton for an enlightening discussion on the intersectionality of queer and disabled identities, and the pressing need for more accessible and inclusive spaces. Here are three key takeaways from our conversation: - Barrier-Free LGBTQ+ Spaces: Spencer, Lily and Erin highlight the challenges faced by disabled individuals in accessing queer nightlife and the importance of creating alternative social spaces, like queer comedy nights, that are inclusive to all. - Airline Accessibility: Erin shared personal experiences about the limitations of current airline seating for people with specialized wheelchairs. Our conversation underscored the urgent need for innovation and accountability within the airline industry to improve accessibility. - Empowering Through Self-Love: Spencer shared valuable insights on self-acceptance and the importance of setting boundaries, both in personal life and as a content creator. His journey emphasizes being gentle with oneself as a disabled person and embracing one's identity with pride. Tune in to listen to this powerful and insightful episode as we celebrate disability and LGBTQ+ pride! #Accessibility #DisabilityPride #LGBTQPride #RepresentationMatters

What better way to kick off #PrideMonth than celebrating the LGBTQIA+ community and the many contributions of leaders from across Greater Boston making change for a more equitable and inclusive Commonwealth? Our team had a great time at the Boston Business Journal Business of Pride event last week, and we look forward to joining other festivities throughout the month (and year-round). The event was also a reminder of how, each year, more companies are adopting communications (and marketing) campaigns to demonstrate allyship. The most successful of those are ones that reflect authentic actions to advance LGBTQIA+ priorities and celebrate team contributions. That's why we wanted to re-share these five things to keep in mind for successful campaigns that support LGBTQIA+ rights movements and promote self-affirmation, dignity, equality, and increased visibility of this community. https://lnkd.in/e8HHGAXV

Thanks for helping reveal our 2024 PRIDE vehicles today François Dossa. It genuinely gives me great pride to work for a company that provides support for diversity networks such as ours, and has such visibility in it’s leadership. Working with Fei Gu as Co-lead for creative within the JLR PRIDE network, we’ve worked hard on designing the vehicle liveries for our 2024 pride season. We've had a number of great designs for pride vehicles in the past, but one consistent piece of feedback we had from people in our PRIDE network was that they wanted to see more colour! As a community we are bright & diverse, the pride progress flag represents that, and so we wanted to include all colours of the progress flag to represent all members of the LGBTQ+ community. In this election year, there is already a great amount of noise over LGBT+ rights and issues being debated in public - Trans rights & healthcare, a ban on conversion therapy, relationship & sexual health education in schools to name a few. It is important to acknowledge the noise that has created and what it can do to our mental health to have our rights and existence up for debate. As a network and a community, we need to support each other and cut through all of the noise, and we also need to engage with allies to help us do that. As proud creators of modern luxury, we should feel emboldened to show our colours, and proud to stand and be visible. We certainly believe this year's PRIDE vehicles are visible! And we hope you do too. (Also found 5 mins to throw together a REAL quick animation)
At JLR, PRIDE is something we commit to all year round through our policies and culture rather than only one day or one month, but PRIDE month is about raising awareness and celebrating the inclusion of LGBT+ communities and allies. Today, I was privileged to unveil the Defender and Jaguar F-TYPE vehicles that will form part of our PRIDE fleet, joining our colleagues who will be proudly marching in parades across the globe, in Birmingham and London, all the way to Portland and New York. These parades honour the Stonewall riots, which were a historical catalyst in changing attitudes towards LGBTQ+ people, campaigning for equal rights, and fighting homophobia. They look amazing and I’d like to say a huge thank you to our creative colleagues at JLR, Fei Gu and Louis Gospel for their roles in this years designs which feature the colours of the PRIDE progress flag to represent of all aspects of our diverse community. So, as we stand tall this PRIDE month as allies of LGBTQ+ people, let’s remember that PRIDE plays such an important part in our history, and let’s strive to promote a world where we champion acceptance and safe spaces for all. #PRIDE #Inclusion

It’s such a joy to see an organisation that you were associated with and had a humble role to play once has come a long way in a short span. To me, this is the ripple effect of when genuine intent meets action to form long lasting impact. Thank you #providence for making what was once a vision a reality today. Kudos to everyone involved in making this safe space for the #lgbtqcommunity and #allies. I fondly recall our first authentic & open conversation on #lgbtqinclusion at Providence was with Ankita Mehra Tushar Sood (He/ Him) & Kulsum M. where lots of folks walked out with tears in their eyes and empathy in their hearts. To Kulsum M. Tushar Sood (He/ Him) and every single person behind this force- thank you for being the torch bearers and creating that safe space for the many there. I have Ankita Mehra Harsha Ravikumar Jayant Iyer Arun Pandey @debbie Deepthi Sirla Suresh Ramdas (He/Him) for collaborating with me out of pure trust. Look at what your voices & active advocacy have help transform. Pallavi Singh (She-Her-Hers) Madhulika Vedula Preethi Ramnarayan Murali Krishna and so many more folks at #providence to thank for their allyship on behalf of the #lgbtqcommunity. This truly speaks of inclusive leadership, collaboration and doing right by people. Lessons in DEI: 1)For those who think Inclusive leaders & DEI professionals have it easy: No they don’t. It takes a lot of hard work to create such space among pressing business priorities and peer judgement. 2)For DEI leaders who constantly struggle to make bigger impact with each attempt, this is testimony that even the smallest start has rippling effects and gets carried forward in due course of time. We do not have to have all the aspects under our control. Have faith, be patient and open to sometimes just giving the little nudge and letting time do its magic. 3) IT TAKES ALL HANDS ON DECK TO BUILD AN INCLUSIVE WORKPLACE. Yes, then entire village to build one. Happy Pride - it’s never just a month and always work in progress. #proudmoments #DEIimpact #inclusiveleadership #DEIleadership #pridemonth #lgbtqinclusion #activeallyship #allyshipinleadership

Pride should be a 365-days-a-year celebration. As a woman- and queer-owned business, we believe in an equitable workplace all year long, not just in time for #PrideMonth. Here are 3 ways we celebrate Pride year-round (and how your organization can, too): 💜 Implement policies that support LGBTQ+ equality in the workplace. This includes inclusive health insurance, gender-affirming care, parental leave, and pay equity, which should be discussion topics alongside rainbows and parades. 💜 Donate to BIPOC and queer-led advocacy organizations. A few of our favorites are Pride Foundation and ACLU of Idaho. 💜 Commit to continuing education around inclusion in the workplace. Continue to hire BIPOC and members of the LGBTQ+ community as employees, contractors, and vendors. #QueerVoicesMatter #LGBTQOwned #QueerOwned #WomenHelpingWomenEntrepreneurs
