🔍 Delighted to be invited to give evidence at this morning's The Scottish Parliament Finance and Public Administration Committee discussion. Our submission had focused on the need to support economic growth. In evidence we highlighted the need for the economy to grow in order to provide the revenues to support public policy aspirations. We noted core concerns with the Housing Bill and the loss of some 54% of construction activity in the fledgling build to rent sector in Scotland due to uncertainty and lack of investor confidence with the Housing Bill. We highlighted positive moves by local authorities and education institutions in Scotland to boost recruitment in building and planning services, for example through graduate apprenticeships (University of Highlands and Islands) and new Scottish building standards hub supported by Fife Council.
