Happy to share that our recent accepted paper “Parenchymal CSF fraction is a measure of brain glymphatic clearance and positively associated with amyloid beta deposition on PET” is available online now at Alzheimer’s & Dementia. Thanks to all the collaborators and their tremendous contributions. Glymphatic clearance has been hypothesized the cause of Amyloid and tau deposition in AD and been validated in animal study. The results in human brain haven’t been tested due to lack of noninvasive whole brain imaging marker for glymphatic function. We have developed an MR relaxometry based CSFF, i.e., Parenchymal CSF fraction, for mapping the glymphatic fluid in the perivascular space which constitutes the key component of glymphatic system. With PiB PET, we tested the corresponding elevation of amyloid deposition with increased CSFF at both subject and voxel level, indicating the association of slowed clearance and higher amyloid accumulation. New markers of aortic dilation? Our recent study shows that abnormal blood flow in the aorta is linked to inflammation and breakdown of the vessel wall in aortic dilation. A recent study evaluated the impact of AI-CAD in screening mammography. Radiologists showed no significant difference in diagnostic performance with AI-CAD, but when they worked without it, specificity and accuracy dropped while recall rates increased. Stand-alone AI-CAD achieved higher specificity and accuracy, indicating its potential in supporting radiologists.
