This Women's History Month, Let's Celebrate All She Is! As social and influencer marketing managers, we have a powerful platform to celebrate women's history – but not just the history books. This March, let's move beyond CEOs and boardrooms, and amplify the stories of the everyday women who are shaping our world. This means going beyond the brand and sales goals. It’s time to see the celebration of women as more than a transaction. Here's how we can celebrate Women's History Month in a truly diverse and inclusive way: ✨Spotlight the "She-Achievers" Next Door: Feature women across industries, not just the C-suite. Highlight the doctor, the teacher, product developers, the artist, the entrepreneur, the graphic designer, the engineer – women breaking barriers in every field. ✨Embrace the Journey, Not Just the Destination: Showcase the struggles and triumphs women face on their career paths, in relationships, and in motherhood. Let's celebrate the everyday hustle that defines many women's lives. ✨Center Real Stories, Not Just Reels: Partner with influencers who embody different backgrounds and experiences. Share authentic narratives that showcase the diversity and complexity of womanhood. ✨Embrace the Power of User-Generated Content (UGC): Encourage your audience to share their own stories! Ask questions like: "Who is a woman who inspires you?" or "What challenges have you faced as a woman in your career?" ✨Connect with Your Community: Host events, webinars, or online discussions that promote women's empowerment and support. Foster a space for women to connect and uplift each other. Let's move beyond the picture-perfect narratives and celebrate the real, relatable women in our lives and communities. By showcasing their journeys, we inspire others to reach for their dreams and remind them: they see themselves in the stories being told. This Women's History Month, let's rewrite the narrative together. Share your ideas and initiatives in the comments below!** #WomensHistoryMonth #DiverseWomen #SheAchieves #RealStoriesRealImpact #CommunityBuilding #UGC #SocialMediaMarketing #InfluencerMarketing

Happy Women’s Day to not just the confident, bold, strong, high-achieving, inspiring women shown in ad campaigns, but also the ones who are not as brave, not as bold, confident, or strong. I think today goes beyond celebrating the resilient 21st century women. Isn’t today supposed to be about dismantling the narrative that seeks to confine women within society’s expectations? A society that thinks a person’s worth is equal to productivity and progress (even capitalises on it), a society that, in a way, still demands women to prove their strength and praises their degree of endurance. My point is, what about women who haven't found their voice, or are may never achieve society’s definition of success, or those who grapple with insecurities? I’m tired of women being praised for being perfect multi-taskers. A mother, a wife, a career-woman — all in one. Sure, it’s amazing that so many women are capable of it and they should be praised, but what about the ones that aren’t capable of it? It’s something to think about because why is it that a woman who’s reached the heights of societal success or who is managing all of it— home, work, family, herself— is a woman worth making ad campaigns about? When did this become the standard? Wouldn’t this crazy standard make so many of us want to fit into these prescribed moulds and feel unworthy if we can’t? A woman’s life seems like a video game without an end. The levels keep getting harder and she has to keep adapting to new difficulties. Anyway, I think we should all be allowed to be unproductive, unsuccessful (from society’s POV), weak, under confident, insecure, scared and whatever it may be. No one’s immune to weakness. We’re all human. I wish we could reimagine the meaning of strength, success and of being a woman in the 21st century. Anyway, #happywomensday to everyone!

Every time I come across a Happy Women's Day post from a company, my immediate reaction is a drawn-out, skeptical "neaaaahhhhhh." It seems to me that International Women's Day has morphed into yet another marketing opportunity for businesses. It's a peculiar sight, really, watching these very companies, many of whom have done little to significantly benefit their female employees, suddenly take up the mantle of champions for women's rights and achievements. It's as though, for this one day, they can put on a show of solidarity and advocacy, neatly bypassing their own records for the rest of the year. The preparation behind these campaigns often feels formulaic and disingenuous. I can almost hear the conversations in boardrooms or marketing team meetings: "Do we have a post ready for Women's Day?" or "Let's make the Women's Day video more impactful. Please pick her, her, her, and her, for the video. They communicate really well." It's as if the real issues and struggles faced by women in the workplace and society are condensed into a single, marketable package, designed to evoke emotions and perhaps guilt-trip the audience into engaging with their brand, rather than fostering any real change or awareness. I can't help but wonder, is it just me who feels this way? Is my cynicism towards these corporate gestures of solidarity a solitary sentiment, or do others share my skepticism?

A few years ago, I reached out to one of my "ICONS" to wish her a Happy Women's Day. Her response was, "I don't believe in this nonsense." This made me ponder. Is Women's Day really necessary or is it merely a marketing gimmick? Through the years, I've realized that there's no clear-cut answer to whether we need a Women's Day. Indeed, it has morphed into a capitalist trend. However, Women's Day does have its positive sides. • It prompts us to pause for a moment to appreciate the women in our lives. This includes our mothers, sisters, friends, and mentors. • The hype around Women's Day on social media encourages introspection on our societal roles. • The various campaigns and themes tied to Women's Day assist women in feeling less guilt about making self-focused decisions. While I understand and respect those who opt not to celebrate Women's Day, I personally choose to celebrate it. So, here's wishing you a very Happy Women's Day! By the way, what are your views on Women's Day? Do you perceive it as necessary or just a marketing ploy? #womensday2024

In an increasingly worrying trend of companies virtue signaling and (insert color)-washing it is imperative that they do more to prevent this virtue signaling and turn words into actual actions. Alexandra M. Sims summarizes it beautifully in my opinion!

International Women's Day is almost here and it's important to talk about content marketing Dos and Don'ts. As a woman in the marketing space, I have some thoughts that can be applied to B2B and most B2C companies. 🚫 1. Don’t: Purple wash - Posting meaningless photos of women at your company does not make you an ally 2. Don’t: Make this a once-per-year marketing stunt. Using this day as an opportunity for sales gains while neglecting your female employees could backfire on you. 3. Don’t: Tokenize 1-2 female leaders in your company. 4. Don’t be afraid to showcase trans women in your content and visuals. If you truly want to be inclusive, please don’t forget about this collective. 5. Don’t hide what you’re not doing well - Did you have a diversity goal you didn’t hit? You can talk about this and be authentic by sharing what corrective steps your company is taking to address this 😉 ✅ 6. Do: Share your employment metrics and how you compare to others within your industry (make sure you’re up to date on ESG and local regulations on what you can and cannot share) 7. Do: Spotlight employees, customers & partners - if you can co-write a story or ad with them you’ll win in authenticity and expand your audience ⭐️ 8. Do: Share social impact stories. What are you doing for girls and women in your company and the communities/markets you operate in? 9. Do: ask for feedback - use focus groups and your employee resource groups to check whether the message lands well What tips would you give to other marketers and employer branding specialists? I'd love to know what content has worked well. Or maybe even what didn't ;-) Julie Ortega, Zoe Coleman, Carissa Sweigart, Carlos Herquinio, Carlos Cantu #iwd2024 #internationalwomensday #Diversitymarketing #contentmarketing #diversitymatters

Content and Confidence Coach ✭ Business Storyteller ✭ Empowering coaches to attract their ideal audience with the right messaging and social media strategy
I'm jumping on the International Women's Day train before Friday because I don't want this message to be lost...💛 And that is, to all those #femalebusinessowners owners out there, YOU deserve to be SEEN. This year's theme is #InspireInclusion - so let's talk women in business. Especially women, who like me, are a #personalbrand. This means the success of our businesses revolves around how we promote ourselves, as well as what we do. 🤯 We already know that less than 30% of UK businesses are owned by women. 📸 But did you know that many women have anxiety that stops them from feeling confident in front of the camera? Social media marketing is one of the best ways to reach your ideal client. What's more, is that #authenticity is the driving force behind how people connect with businesses. However, I found research that stated: 😔 More than half of women (57%) admitted that worrying how they will look is likely to have a negative impact on how they feel in front of the camera 😔 On average, women become more self-conscious in front of the camera at the age of just 24 😔 55% of women are more camera shy now compared to 10 years ago I believe all too many female business owners censor themselves and don't say what they want for fear of being judged. And for the same reason, they don't like taking pictures or videos either. But why? The truth is, your audience needs to connect with you and believe me when I say they're not going to connect on how you look. 💛 They will connect with your story 💛 They will connect with your values 💛 They will connect with your mission 💛 They will connect with your personality 💛 They will connect with your message 💛 They will connect with how well you understand their problems You really do deserve to be seen and heard - please don't censor yourself. Your future clients need you. If you're wondering where you sit on the confidence scale, why not take my CONTENT CREATION CONFIDENCE QUIZ ⬇️ https://lnkd.in/eK6PK23u I won't be spamming you with emails afterwards. I promise - that's not how I roll! Cheers to all you amazing women out there! 🥂

Sometimes I don't listen to my own advice But when I do...it works a charm ✨✌️ There was a time when I was so focused on Girl Brand Content Workshop's that I lost track of Upgrading Women Marketing's company page But I've managed to get it back on track in just a couple of weeks Here's how I did it 👇 ✅ Created content pillars: feminism, women empowerment and marketing ✅ Planned out a weekly content calendar based on pillars: feminist news, marketing campaign analysis and female founder spotlight ✅ Designed the templates in Canva ✅ Put a pillar to each day so we had consistency (easier for me too!) ✅ Spend 2 hours each Monday creating and scheduling out a week's worth of content...with ease And then not have to worry about it for the rest of the week 😋 My definition of work smarter not harder 💪 While you're here, go follow Upgrading Women Marketing and tell me if the content is working for ya 🤞 #Marketing #ContentMarketing #WomenInBusiness #FemaleFounder #WomenEmpowerment
