Spirit problems are not only network but also strategy… ULCC’s have a really hard time gaining market share due to US market high GDP per capita. There’s a need to bump up services, especially on cabin. Development of an upgraded economy product would dramatically increase yielding, along with a more focused distribution network (more Alaska Airlines network, less Southwest). Pick your main hub and stick with a connection pattern… #aviation #airlines Spirit Airlines Allegiant JetBlue Breeze Airways™ Frontier Airlines United Airlines American Airlines ALTA - Latin American & Caribbean Air Transport Association Southwest Airlines Sunwing Airlines Inc. We know JetBlue is going back to its core network (Boston, New York) after its failed merger with Spirit Airlines. But what about Spirit? Chief Commercial Officer Matt Klein said at #RoutesAmericas to expect less Florida flying — read Orlando, which Brett Snyder has described as hitting "a wall" — and more intentional connectivity in places like Fort Lauderdale and Las Vegas. "We're going to have to start moving some things around. Part of it is operationally driven, and part of it is also commercially driven where we think there may be better opportunities to match up supply and demand," Klein said. Details will be unveiled in Spirit's summer schedule in the next few weeks. #airlines https://lnkd.in/eq-qEBAa

David Neeleman, the founder of JetBlue Airlines, shared a simple yet powerful secret to running a successful airline, or any business for that matter ⤵ “Listening To Customers Is Key To Making A Business Invaluable To Them.” He started by talking to every person on the plane to understand their experiences and needs. This simple approach helped him build an airline that people love. Neeleman founded JetBlue in 1999, focusing on low-cost, high-quality service with amenities like leather seats and live TV. Today, JetBlue is known for its excellent customer service and commitment to meeting the needs of its passengers and operates over 1,000 flights daily, serving more than 100 destinations across the USA, the Caribbean, and Latin America. The airline has grown from a small startup to a major player in the aviation industry, with a market capitalization of over $5 billion. Neeleman also believes in employees taking pride in their work and helping when things go wrong. He says a company should matter to both its employees and customers. And how do you do that? By treating people well and making them feel important. Small Biz Marketing cheers for David Neeleman, who changed air travel with JetBlue, inspiring better customer service and innovation in aviation. #smallbusinesses #smallbusinessowners #success #successstory #sbm #smallbizmarketing

Manager, Design Thinking, Strategy Implementation & Innovation | Strategic Governance, Risk and Compliance
Amidst the challenges of the past year, JetBlue has shown resilience and strategic prowess. The airline's customer-centric approach has led to exceptional service levels, with a 99.8% completion factor in Q4 2020 - their best performance since 2004. JetBlue has also made strategic network enhancements, reallocating resources to high-performing leisure routes and resizing efforts at LaGuardia Airport. The airline's expansion of services to popular destinations, including the Caribbean and Europe, has further strengthened their position. In addition, JetBlue has made significant strides in environmental sustainability, reducing carbon emissions by 6% compared to 2019 levels. Looking ahead, JetBlue anticipates positive momentum in revenue growth, buoyed by robust demand during peak periods. With a strategic approach and a commitment to sustainability, JetBlue is poised for success in the years to come. As the saying goes, "culture eats strategy for breakfast." But JetBlue proves that with a strong strategic plan, a customer-centric approach, and a commitment to sustainability, success is possible even in challenging times. Perhaps our very own CAL can aadopt similar strategies? #trinidadandtobago #caribbean #jetblue

Why do Jet Blue and Marriott hotels REFUSE to work with the small/medium sized businesses??? What I was told by Jet Blue is that they simply don't have the tech for it (and you fly airplanes???) and now with the Spirit merger, I guess I can see why. Competition in the budget airlines is fierce, and now Jet Blue seems to be at the same level as Spirit or Frontier. That means no or few discounts or rewards programs, and poor service and completions. As for Marriott, the only answer I have been able to get is that as a corporation, they have nothing for small/medium sized businesses, but they suggest negotiating with each location, which I have done for the most part. When you book travel globally, that's sort of a big ask, though. Just my corporate travel questions for the day. Feel free to respond with a comment on your thoughts of this. #marriott #JetBlue #Spirit #Frontier #corporatetravel #businesstravel #smallmediumsizedcompaniesneedlovetoo #globalbusinesstravel

🛫 JetBlue's Strategic Moves for a Profitable Future JetBlue Airways' latest decision to streamline its operations is a strategy in today's dynamic aviation landscape that may be duplicated, maybe? Here's a breakdown of their recent move: 1. Route Optimization: JetBlue is discontinuing flights from JFK Airport to Portland and San Jose, and from Westchester to Martha's Vineyard. Additionally, services to Ponce, Puerto Rico, and Milwaukee are being suspended. 2. Focus on Profitability: The airline is strategically choosing flight routes to enhance profitability, a crucial step in the evolving post-COVID travel environment. 3. Improving Reliability: By eliminating less popular flights, JetBlue aims to better manage air traffic control challenges, especially in the congested Northeast. 4. Staff Considerations: As the airline exits Baltimore, they're actively working with staff to find solutions and options. 🔍 Insight: It's important to note that these changes were planned prior to the court's decision on JetBlue's acquisition of Spirit Airlines, highlighting a proactive approach towards operational efficiency. 🤔 Your Thoughts?: How do you see these changes impacting the airline industry, particularly in the context of post-pandemic recovery? When mature airlines like JetBlue project full year losses at a time when the global airline industry is buoyed by resurgent demand and aircraft supply shortage, many questions need to be asked. JetBlue's earnings update yesterday offered little hope that there are rosier days ahead. Network is at the heart of airline profitability. Jon Ostrower and team did a great job a few weeks ago on The Air Show podcast at contrasting JetBlue's (non-)defence of Boston with Alaska Airlines' more robust Seattle response - up against Delta Air Lines in both cases. Their network changes "are designed to free up unprofitable flying and reallocate it to proven leisure markets where JetBlue has historically won". Seeking sanctuary in the arms of old flames seems like a pretty regressive network strategy. While many eyes are on the US low cost carriers right now, perhaps it's those airlines squeezed in the middle between LCCs and full service carriers who we should be more concerned about? #airlines #jetblue #networkdevelopment #airlineprofitability https://lnkd.in/dgkKQPaF

Today's ruling against JetBlue's proposed acquisition of Spirit Airlines is a victory for travelers. The federal judge's decision to block the merger is a win for consumer choice and fair competition in the airline industry. Spirit Airlines shares plunged 52% on Tuesday following this ruling, highlighting the significant impact this decision has on both companies. This outcome sends a strong message that monopolistic control over travel and pricing will not be tolerated, ultimately benefiting the American public. This development also underscores the importance of maintaining a diverse and competitive marketplace, ensuring that consumers have a range of options and fair pricing when it comes to air travel. As we move forward, it is crucial that we continue to advocate for policies that promote a level playing field and prioritize the interests of travelers. #ConsumerChoice #FairCompetition #AirlineIndustry #TravelOptions #MonopolyControl #JetBlue #SpiritAirlines #FederalRuling #TravelNews 🛫 Click To Read; https://lnkd.in/dsdraKRE
