End of July update with Co-op Solutions: This month had been the best so far with all kinds of collaborations, meetings, and project work to experience! We even had a competitive Intern Innovation Event, which not only gave a great opportunity for the company to get feedback on internal processes and problems, but also for interns to configure solutions and showcase their talents in a "Shark Tank" format. The "Sharks" were amazing higher-ups within the company with great Q&A questions and insights into all the presentations. It was such an honor that my team with Braden Bennett and Tanner Parrott won 1st place for our problems and solutions! Some of the criteria were feasibility, innovation/creativity, organization, presentation, and so on. The best part of it all is that the problematic processes (or a lack of them and controls) we pointed out got people moving to make changes in the company. Us interns got a voice and launched internal actions for improvement. I couldn't feel any more proud of what our team accomplished and what I saw from other teams! This Shark Tank innovation event was a fantastic idea, and as a guinea pig, I highly recommend keeping it for future internship programs to use fresh, young eyes to keep identifying inefficiencies and risks. I can't wait to see how new changes come to fruition with us as a part of that. There are more intern events coming up that I'm excited for as the summer program wraps up, like the iCubs game, more intern workshops, and final takeaway presentations. To say you killed the presentation is an understatement! Great ideas come from everywhere and anywhere, the key is to know when to listen. Bravo!
