What Do We Have Here? (It’s Big So It Must Be Good) My latest project has been decorating our front entryway. Normally we have just walked into the front door from the car or the street without paying much attention to the entry or spending much time there. But recently we had an electrician install some lights for better lighting at night and they are so pretty that I decided to create a special space in the entryway. I added little decorative birds to the ficus tree, beautiful glass hummingbird feeders, chairs with pretty pillows, glass tables with plastic vases (because the glass vases kept breaking!) and filled therm with colorful silk flowers. There is not a lot of room out there, but enough to create a place where a visitor might want to sit while waiting for someone other than barking dogs to answer the door. It's so pretty that I actually sit there sometimes instead of the backyard to try and catch a glimpse of the hummingbirds. They are very shy and flighty so it is difficult to get them to cooperate when you are trying to film them. They love the new hummingbird feeders filled with delicious nectar but as soon as you open the door, they fly away. But they know when they have a good thing going so they always come back. I decided this area was now so beautiful and inviting it just needed a little something extra. One of my friends had suggested for the best Feng Shui that we get some sort of water feature. According to a feng shui (wind and water) diagram you can place over a drawing of your house to see which areas in your home layout represent which areas of your life, the front entryway represents your career. I would love to have a successful career, so I wanted to choose the best visuals and sounds. I found a tiered rock fountain with twinkly lights that looked perfect to complete our updated entry . I was working at the computer when I heard those darn barking dogs and went to the door to see what they were barking at this time if anything. And there it was! A very large box from Amazon. I knew what was inside, so immediately began to open it. Correction: Attempt to open it! I also immediately brought out the iPhone to film this adventure, because as you know as soon as I start to film anything, the unexpected just happens and you just gotta have a sense of humor and go with the flow. Now this very unwieldy box containing a relatively large water fountain was extremely heavy, and I actually surprised myself with some superhuman abilities to move it. Yes, there are barking dogs! PS The dogs already drank out of it. Those darn dogs will drink out of anything! Sound has a profound effect on how we experience a space. 🎶✨ Natural sounds like rain or birdsong can promote tranquility, while soothing music enhances relaxation and focus. Even intentional silence can offer mental clarity. Designing spaces with sound in mind means reducing noise pollution—by using soft materials that absorb sound, adding rugs or curtains, and opting for quiet corners. 🌿 A peaceful soundscape creates a sanctuary-like atmosphere, making it easier to unwind and connect with the moment. I decided to do some upgrading to the Coming Attractions area. Some things seemed off. So, I wanted to reboot this a little bit. The reason is for positioning. My past few screens were excellent for content, but the area felt stagnant/rigid/inflexible. The solution was to make a screen in the same design as I did for the holidays but put the words "Coming Attractions" next to the Fest Project logo. It gives the flexibility to have an announcement screen in one area and nearby/next to it a "Coming Attractions Screen." Now, onto the content. Those who saw Friday's post know I'm not a fan of the winter weather. Having two storms was enough. So, I decided to reboot December's exhibits, and I won't be creating any more "Winter Wonderland" exhibits. December's "Pastel Wonderland: A Dreamy Escape" exhibit will have visitors immersing themselves in the world of pastel colors. I have some cool things in the works with this one. The teaser screen features some Powder and Bokeh brushwork that will be a feature in this exhibit. Throughout the year, you will see glimpses of this unique exhibit. 🎶 Exploring Reverberation 🎶 Let's take a chill dive into the world of reverbs! 🌊 There are several types to play with: 🏰 Hall Reverb: Think of grand, spacious environments. Hall reverbs add depth and richness, perfect for creating a sense of grandeur. 🏠 Room Reverb: More intimate than halls, room reverbs emulate smaller spaces. They're great for adding warmth and realism to your sound. 🔮 Chamber Reverb: These simulate medium-sized rooms, offering a balance between halls and rooms. Chamber reverbs provide a sense of envelopment without overwhelming your mix. 🔅 Spring Reverb: Picture vintage gear! Spring reverbs use actual springs to create a distinct, retro sound. They're perfect for adding character and vibe. 🍽️ Plate Reverb: Classic studio staples! Plate reverbs use large metal plates to create lush, smooth reflections. They're versatile and can add shimmer to vocals or instruments. Each type brings its own flavor to the table—experiment and find the one that suits your vibe! 🎵✨ #ReverbTypes #AudioMagic #MusicProduction

When do attractions become more than sources of entertainment? When they create community and bring us closer to the people that we love. In our latest People Profile, Business Development Representative Kevin Kalbfeld speaks to the connective power of themed spaces. He also shares some of his artistic talents and reveals his true character (or at least, the character he would love to become). --- Don't miss Kevin, along with Monai Rooney, Lacy K Campbell, and Judith Zissman as they present "The Site-Specific Theater Playbook: Creating Authentic, Meaningful and Inimitable Experiences" at the Themed Entertainment Association's SATE North America conference. The term “site-specific theater” refers to a play that can only be performed in one location and is impossible to transfer to any other venue. The production gains authenticity and meaning by operating outside of a conventional theater and leaning into what is unique (and often logistically challenging) about the location. Similarly, attractions outside of the major theme park hubs are often able to realize incredibly powerful experiences by embracing the specificity of their unique locations. Whether it’s access to natural resources, generations’ worth of stories, or even historical artifacts, smaller parks, museums, and immersive experiences can artfully and accurately reflect a specific community to create an experience that feels specific, special, and spectacular. Drawing from years of making successful experiences at intimate scales, this panel will share their best practices and strategies for design and operation, often transforming logistical challenges into guest highlights. #wemakeascene #employeespotlight #design #themedentertainment #TEAsate

Remember the days when stairs were the only challenge between you and your favorite rooftop view? Enter vertical platform lifts – the unsung heroes that swoop in like caped crusaders, making buildings accessible without the dramatics of an architectural soap opera. Sure, you could take the stairs and pretend you're training for Everest, but why break a sweat when technology can break down barriers instead? Imagine gliding up gracefully, giving a subtle nod to gravity as you ascend. Pure poetry in motion. But why bother with these mechanical marvels, you ask skeptically, eyebrow raised? Because not everyone gets to play stairmaster champion. Think about those with mobility challenges, the elderly, or simply days when your legs are protesting like angry politicians. Let’s give credit where it’s due: vertical platform lifts offer practicality wrapped in elegance. They’re the unsung verse in the symphony of universal design. - **Efficient** - **Elegant** - **Empathetic** Ready to elevate your perspective? https://lnkd.in/emdgfXDV #VerticalPlatformLifts #Accessibility #Innovation #UniversalDesign #ElevateLife
