Compassionate Leader / Human Rights Campaigner / Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Advocate / Events Developer / General Manager/ Collaborative Practitioner/ Community Constructor
Navigating LinkedIn and political advocacy has always required a careful balance. I’ve endeavored to keep my professional profile and direct political affiliations distinct, but the rising existential threats to democracy and progressive values make that separation increasingly challenging. As Einstein profoundly stated, "The world will not be destroyed by those who do evil, but by those who watch them without doing anything." This powerful insight drives my commitment to actively campaign for the LGBT community and champion diversity and inclusion. The issues we face today demand more than just passive observation; they call for active engagement and relentless advocacy. From pushing for equal rights to creating spaces where everyone feels valued, these efforts are critical in safeguarding our democratic ideals and societal progress. By standing up and speaking out, we can address injustices and promote a culture of respect and equality. In a world where threats to our values are ever-present, let’s commit to action. Every voice raised, every campaign run, and every effort made is a step toward a more inclusive and just society. Together, we can forge a path where standing up for what’s right becomes the norm, not the exception. Today I stood with colleagues to raise awareness of trans awareness week. We were asking colleagues to be visible allies, educate themselves and listen to others' perspective (also offering some sugary treats in the colours of the trans flag). Creating a safe space for people to feel comfortable to bring their whole selves to work is so important. As is the need to keep discussing the issues and raising awareness. Discussion and debate is healthy as long as it is is respectful and allows people to be properly listened to. Getting out there and learning more about a subject is the first step to being an ally. #Istandwithtrans #beanally #lgbtqia #transawarenessweek

Funding issues are relevant for all community organizations, but funding activities aimed directly at LGBT communities are becoming problematic in many EECA countries. ECOM’s review of best practices in obtaining budget funding in various EECA countries makes it possible to analyze the most common situations, their positive and negative aspects, and prospects for further support. In this collection, we have compiled eight stories, or more precisely, best practices, from 6 countries in the EECA region. They are all different, but we tried to identify the most common situations to summarize experiences and describe the most common examples of funding. May 17th is the International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia, and Biphobia. As the ELTA - European LGBTQ+ Travel Alliance, our commitment is to work together with destinations, institutions, and tourism operators in Europe to promote increasingly inclusive tourism and seek dialogue to help those most in need. Yesterday marked the conclusion of the second edition of the Estates General of European LGBTQ+ Tourism, an assembly that allowed industry experts to discuss DE&I themes and LGBTQ+ rights, showing how these impact tourism. It emerged that Europe is certainly one of the most welcoming destinations in the world, but in many destinations, overly strict legislation still exists, which does not guarantee equal rights for everyone. In this case, the work of local LGBTQ+ associations has proven to be fundamental. Our commitment will be to support destinations in difficulty even more, standing by their side in the fight for a world without discrimination. #IDAHOBIT #IDAHOBIT2024
