Here's a great ITB Berlin moment on 📸: I finally met Richard! Over the past decade I've always heard through our common friend Amelie von Toll that he's building ,,something tech" for hospitality... then a few years ago I realized that this ,,something tech" was Mews! So what was happening this year at the MEWS booth? Apart from the ever so cool booth design (this year they invited us to dream big in their cloud like space and gave out sleeping masks 👏 ) and probably great drinks we talked about this: 🎓 Mews is doing extremely well in providing value beyond their PMS solution. Have you checked out their content library of webinars and blogs? Link in comments. 🧠 The Mews team combines two brains: the tech brain and the #hospitality brain, which is why it IS a hospitality company. Funny enough, perception around this was completely different ten years ago! 🤝 We also realized that we have a lot in common: the next generation of hoteliers tend to join Fair Job Hotels, as they identify themselves with new ways of leadership and modern #humanresources and shop for new software. I can name several Fair Job Hotels that are also MEWS customers. Wonderful finally meeting you, Richard Valtr, as well as Matthijs Welle and Paul Mooney and excited to follow your continued growth! #hospitalityindustry #learninganddevelopment #hospitalitytech

Resourcing Manager at Higgs LLP - People Driven. Legal Excellence. Investors in People Silver Accredited Employer - email claire.rankovic@higgsllp.co.uk
🙌 Why I Love Going to Work: Embracing Variety, Challenge and Purpose. So this week has been what you would call "a bit of a week!" but all in such a positive way and it made me stop and think, I really do love going to work. My role as Resourcing Manager (loving the new title) brings variety and new challenges, never any monotony and keeps me intellectually stimulated and definitely on my toes 👣. Of course there are challenges but these push me to grow and develop my skills, providing a sense of accomplishment when I overcome them. Working in a culture that promotes continuous development is a breath of fresh air. Knowing that my work makes a meaningful impact motivates me to give my best. The supportive and collaborative team environment along with the flexibility and autonomy to manage my time is priceless, and with that comes ultimate job satisfaction. This week has been full of fantastic interviews, excellent events for #mentalhealthawarenessweek (shout out to Daniel Wilsher for his talk and Nicola Little for arranging our brilliant Wellness Fair) and then our Careers Event today with King Edward VI College, Stourbridge. It is weeks such as these that shout out to me, that this is not just a job; it's so much more than that, it is all about growth, excitement, and purpose. So my question to you is do you love your job? If you don't why not, what can you change? Life is not meant to be mediocre.

🌟 Celebrating National Careers Week! 🌟 I tried to find a photo of my early days but sadly (thankfully) there were no smart phones in those days. We've all been there - starting a job at the local pub, just looking to earn some extra cash during A-levels or University. That's how my hospitality career started.... At 16 I started working at Regency Tea Rooms in Bromsgrove with my best friend. I earned £18 a week and got to choose a cake at the end of my Saturday shift 😋 When I turned 18 I started pulling pints 🍺 I made great friendships, had so much fun and developed fast thanks to the inspiring leadership of James Phillips - one of the best Managers I've ever had! From waitressing in France to countless hospitality jobs whilst at Uni I finally came to work in Head Office at Mitchells & Butlers PLC in 2010. With the support of another memorable Manager and mentor Chris Collings, I was lucky enough to get on to our Operations Graduate Scheme in 2012 and now find myself back in HR after some years living abroad. I honestly can't imagine working for any other hospitality company - M&B are simply the best! ✨ Here's why hospitality is an amazing career choice: ✅ Diverse Career Paths: From Operations to Marketing, HR to Finance, Property, and beyond - the possibilities are endless. ✅ Skills Development: You'll hone communication, problem-solving, time management, teamwork, and resilience - essential skills for any career. ✅ Evolving Industry: Constantly innovating, requiring creativity and fresh ideas. ✅ Learning & Development: Whether through graduate schemes, apprenticeships, coaching, or mentoring, there are ample opportunities to grow. I've personally experienced the diversity and rewards of this industry, thanks to Mitchells & Butlers. For more about working at Mitchells & Butlers and our job opportunities, visit https://lnkd.in/eyNDKfNk Go on - You won't regret it!! 🤩 #LifeAtMAB #NationalCareersWeek
