We’ve been celebrating Pride all month long with events and thoughtful discussions centered around this year’s theme of “Reflect, Empower, Unite and Inspire to Action.” Thank you to our Pride Network and to everyone who shared their inspiring journeys of how they put their allyship into action all year round. We will continue to support and celebrate the unique identities that make our communities vibrant and strong.

Celebrate with us National Civility Month as we promote ways to treat others the way we wish to be treated ourselves — with kindness, empathy, and respect. By being civil to family members, friends, co-workers and strangers, we gain in return: 💬 An open dialog promoting understanding and empathy between people of different backgrounds and beliefs. 🌞 A positive environment where people feel appreciated and valued and there are fewer conflicts and misunderstandings. 👀 An opportunity to have effective conversations with others even when we don’t see eye to eye.

This is the tragedy for most wheelchair users using public transport. Mobility should be extended to public transport services. Service providers should consider adapting public transport with automated ramps to allow for easy access into busses, trains and aeroplanes etc. #Disability #NDCN #Inclusivity #Mobility

June is a month filled with celebrations and recognition, but it often feels like the focus on PRIDE overshadows other significant observances, particularly Caribbean Heritage Month. As someone of Caribbean descent, it’s important to acknowledge and celebrate the rich cultures and contributions of people from the Caribbean. For me, It’s frustrating to see the overwhelming support for PRIDE while Caribbean Heritage Month—and the issues of racial inequality and inequity—receives less attention. This is not to say that PRIDE shouldn't be recognized—it absolutely has its place. However, the challenges faced by Black and Brown communities, including those of Caribbean descent, are deeply ingrained and pervasive, requiring much more visibility and support. Being Black or Brown in America involves navigating a landscape of bias and systemic inequality that is often more visible and more complex. As we move through June, let's ensure that we are also amplifying the voices and experiences of people of Caribbean descent and committing to the ongoing fight for racial justice and equity. I am all for each having its rightful shine but not at the expense of another.

CEO, JUMPSTART SC || Building Transformational Opportunities || Breaking Cycles of Crime & Addiction || Connecting You With Opportunities to Make an Undeniable Impact in the World
What do you celebrate? I celebrate those who’ve experienced trauma but instead of playing the victim card, they’ve chosen to use their experience as a catalyst to make the world a better place. I celebrate those who’ve been successful enough that they could satisfy every personal want, yet they choose to give to create transformative opportunities for those in need. I celebrate the young parents who don’t have it all together, but they are giving it their best. I celebrate the single mom who is working two jobs and raising kids on her own. I celebrate the dad who pays child support and keeps showing up for his kids even though he didn’t receive a fair shake. I celebrate those who've made mistakes but refuse to be forever defined by them. I celebrate the organizations that do business justly and treat employees fairly. I celebrate the employees who show up in toxic environments to put food on the table until they can find something better. I celebrate everyone who is seeking to serve rather than be served. I celebrate those who love their neighbors as they love themselves. I celebrate the poor who live with joy amid difficult circumstances. I celebrate the rich who build bridges rather than walls. I celebrate everyone who is seeking to make much of King Jesus rather than try to find a crown for themselves. What do you celebrate?
