Helping communities live healthier lives is one of the most pressing and complex challenges of our time. It crosses many socioeconomic factors, organisations and sectors. Thanks to National Lottery players and our programme partnership with The King's Fund, Healthy Communities Together has awarded £2.6 million to five cross-sector partnerships to tackle this challenge across the country, from Coventry to Croydon. Today, our evaluation partner Cordis Bright has published a ‘system map’ to share partners’ findings about what factors help and hinder partnership working towards this goal. The findings include these priorities for organisations and individuals, among many others: 🧑🤝🧑Prioritising interpersonal relationships and acknowledging historical power dynamics so we can address them 🚀Moving from transactional to transformational funding relationships 🤝Committing to deep partnership working We’re committed to transforming health, wellbeing and health equality outcomes across the country. 🌟 “Which factors help or hinder cross-sector partnership working?" We're excited to publish a system map which illustrates factors impacting partnership working between voluntary and statutory sectors. 👉 https://lnkd.in/eCh6HJts This map was developed as part of the evaluation of the Healthy Communities Together programme, delivered by The National Lottery Community Fund in collaboration with The King's Fund. HCT aims to support effective and sustainable partnership working between the Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise (VCSE), National Health Service (NHS) and local authorities to better address the needs of local communities to support improved health and wellbeing. Cordis Bright are proud to be evaluating the Healthy Communities Together (HCT) programme. Watch this space for more updates as our evaluation continues! #HealthyCommunitiesTogether #HealthAndWellbeing #PartnershipWorking #VoluntarySector #StatutorySector #CommunityHealth

Unlocking the potential of needs assessments: 📊 Why conduct Needs Assessments? Local authorities and NHS organisations want to understand community health and care needs through data. Gaps in services can make things worse for people who need support, so understanding is key. But are they getting actionable insights? 🧩 Challenges with traditional assessments. Traditional methods offer stats but lack depth; they miss the complexity of real lives, especially for the most vulnerable. 🔍 Instead, our systems approach. At Cordis Bright, we use systems-thinking to assess complex needs, like in our example discussed here. This can transform needs assessments, giving you important insights for actionable change and better outcomes for people using services. 📬 Connect with us. We'd love to discuss further so please do get in touch – EleanorSouthernWilkins@cordisbright.co.uk or JoshuaButt@cordisbright.co.uk. #NeedsAssessment #HealthCare #SocialCare #SystemsThinking #ComplexNeeds #Collaboration #CordisBright https://lnkd.in/eVz9H7xa

We've recently finished a project with the Greater London Authority looking at income maximisation approaches across various devolved administrations. An interesting project, conducting interviews with government, council and voluntary organisation stakeholders to understand how different administrations design, deliver, and evaluate income maximisation approaches. We created six case studies which fed into an overarching slide-deck, which you can check out on our website here: https://lnkd.in/etgjvG4X

We’re delighted to be working with London’s Violence Reduction Unit (VRU) on an evaluation of its MyEnds programme. MyEnds promotes highly-local, place-based approaches to reducing violence in London neighbourhoods which have experienced high and sustained levels of violence. Key findings from our reports indicate MyEnds is: 1. Contributing to stronger local networks within the VCS and between the VCS and statutory organisations, supporting joined up working and providing a foundation for collective approaches to violence reduction. 2. Promoting stronger grassroots organisations, which are supporting local communities. 3. Contributing to a range of benefits for young people and community members, such as improved mental health, wellbeing, confidence, aspirations, ETE outcomes and support networks, through its interventions. 4. Supporting improved skills in staying safe and reduced involvement in violence through a small number of tertiary interventions. Developing and implementing the MyEnds programme has also provided useful learning at the local and programme levels for future similar initiatives and for continuing to improve MyEnds. For example, areas for ongoing development include: 1. Taking a strategic approach to understanding needs and identifying target groups. 2. Building capacity to robustly measure impact to evaluate innovative approaches. 3. Navigating the opportunities and boundaries of VCS-statutory partnership working. 4. Gathering further learning about useful local pre-conditions for similar initiatives. Read more at https://lnkd.in/egybPC4t We are currently conducting an evaluation of the extension year of MyEnds – stay tuned for more on this!
