Very interesting discussion with Infineum partners at Gane Energy, talking about the opportunities for methanol based fuels to reduce dependence on diesel as a transportation fuel. Investing in areas where our additives can support the energy transition is a key part of Infineum's strategy for growth

The fuel is made from methanol and water and a small amount of di-methyl ether along with performance fuel additives. Gane Energy says it’s a cost-effective, low-risk alternative to diesel, which can leverage existing infrastructure – and does not need a pilot fuel. Here’s Joanna on what they consider to be the environmental benefits of using liquid methanol fuel instead of diesel fuel or marine fuel oils. Alternative fuels, such as methanol will have a key role to play in the drive to decarbonise the internal combustion engine. Infineum is ready with high quality lubricity improver and corrosion inhibitor fuel additives that will be vital to ensure continued hardware protection.
