FREE SPACE IS CONVENTIONALLY MEASURED USING HELIUM BECAUSE IT IS NONADSORBING AND DOES NOT CONDENSE AT CRYOGENIC TEMPERATURES Helium is, however, relatively scarce on Earth and comes with a high price tag due to its limited availability and the costs associated with its extraction and purification. Despite its rarity, helium is widely used in scientific, medical, and industrial applications. Additionally, with few suppliers worldwide, unexpected disruptions can further compound to the challenges of procuring it. Other gases like nitrogen and argon are more plentiful in the atmosphere and can be separated more readily. Therefore, they are generally more cost-effective compared to helium. Micromeritics is introducing a new feature on our gas adsorption instruments which allows operators to utilize gases other than helium for determining free space. This enhancement offers users increased flexibility and helps addresses procurement challenges.

Excited to share with you our (Dr. Vijay K. Tomer, Otávio Augusto Titton Dias, myself and Ritu Malik) recent work about Advancing Lithium-Sulfur Battery Efficiency. In this work, We utilize a novel 2D Ti3C2 Mxene on a 2D g-C3N4 heterostructure designed to enhance LiPS conversion kinetics and adsorption capacity. In pouch cell configuration, the g-C3N4-Mx/S cathode exhibited excellent rate performance, delivering ~1061 mAh/g at C/8 and retaining ~773 mAh/g after 190 cycles with a Coulombic efficiency of 90.4%. The battery maintained a discharge capacity of 680 mAh/g even at 1.25 C. It operated at an elevated sulfur loading of 5.9 mg/cm2, with an initial discharge capacity of ~900 mAh/g and a sustained CE of over 83% throughout 190 cycles. https://lnkd.in/g_BMdCfK

https://lnkd.in/gYY28Q-K This study presents the development of a scalable continuous flow process for synthesizing a densely functionalized quinazoline organozinc intermediate for the KRAS G12C inhibitor Divarasib (GDC-6036). Initially, a cryogenic batch metalation process faced logistical challenges due to the instability of the quinazoline organomagnesium species above −60 °C. Investigation of reaction kinetics in batch mode, followed by process modelling, led to a practical, continuous flow approach. Addressing reactor fouling issues, a combination of plug flow and continuous stirred tank reactors was implemented in the final production system. Laboratory experiments successfully translated to a multikilogram scale, yielding excellent performance in subsequent atroposelective Negishi cross-coupling.

⚡🔬Challenging the established using of LiAlO2 in molten carbonate fuel cells (MCFCs) for over half a century is no easy feat, but here is our attempt! Our latest research explores new solid electrolyte support matrix materials, specifically perovskite oxide ion conductors BNT and LNT.
