“Gen Z are losing jobs they just got”. This is according to a study conducted in the USA by intelligent. It says 78% of 800 US managers are replacing recent Gen Z hires with AI. When asked to contribute to the article, I said: “while AI is a fantastic junior employee, where does your next generation of senior employees come from if you’re too reliant on AI? Senior employees have a combination of knowledge and experience. Knowledge can be taught, experience can’t”. Another thing we need to consider is AI is best used to compliment the workforce not replace it. It’s a tool, best weilded by a human. It will feel like AI is replacing jobs. I believe AI will continuously cause the reshuffling of jobs. It is more important than ever for people to think of their careers in terms of their own businesses and think through where they add value in this ever-changing world.
