Exit ticket , Session 2 Activity! Back to another fun weekend session. While we are on a journey of exploring our "Khudi" i.e. knowing yourself, we are also learning to be more proactive and driven in participating in such mini tasks as desired by Amal Academy. 1. Something new I learnt that I didn't know was the concept of "Connecting the dots". "You can't connect the dots looking forward; you can only connect them looking backwards", as stated by Steve Jobs. This simple sentence, yet a profound one holds so much depth in making us realize that we have to trust that these dots (all our past events) will somehow connect in our future, molding us into someone we aspire to be. 2. One question I still have is that why it is always hard to take the first step in trying something new, especially when you have made up the mindset to do so? Why does it still scare us? 3. I would like to tag my batchmate Maryam Arif Rana as to encourage her in her journey alongside me and knowing her better through this fellowship. And also can't simply forget to mention Ma'am Swaiba Zaidi, and Ma'am Aiman Qadeer, my supportive program facilitators. Looking forward to learning more from you guys! #amalacademy #batch314

https://lnkd.in/gmr7frvZ Facing the Reality: Challenges in Graduates' Employability I stumbled upon this YouTube video and was struck by the stark reality it portrays about the struggles faced by today's educated youth. Despite their qualifications, many find themselves relegated to odd jobs due to a lack of essential skills or other reasons. Putting jokes aside, let's delve into the sobering truth of graduate employability in our country. Only 20-30% secure jobs through campus placements, while another 15-20% rely on referrals. Approximately 10-15% pivot into alternative careers after acquiring additional skills. However, a significant percentage of educated youth lacks the necessary employable skills and is resistant to unlearning and relearning. #GraduateEmployability #SkillsGap #Unemployment #EmploymentChallenges #EducationSystem #YouthEmployment #FutureOfWork It's disheartening to see many young graduates, who should ideally be contributing to the national economy, becoming liabilities instead.

My First Week at Amal-Career Prep Fellowship Program I'm excited to be part of the Amal fellowship program! Today was our second meeting, led by Maleeha and Tasbeeha Fakhar. We learned about two important concepts: "Amal" (taking action) and "Khudi" (self-awareness). We did a fun activity where we divided into two teams. One team thought action should come first, followed by self-reflection. The other team believed self-reflection should come first, so we understand our strengths before taking action. The discussion was helpful and allowed us to share ideas. We also made "life maps" to show the good and bad times in our lives. This exercise reminded us that life has ups and downs, but setting goals and working hard can help us achieve them, even when things get tough. The session ended with a group photo. I'm looking forward to learning and growing with my fellow participants over the next three months! #Amalacademy #CareerGrowth #SelfReliance #Amal_B327 #Session_2 #GCU_Lahore
