It's all in the brew! I've been on a quest to perfect that premium coffee experience at home, and guess what? I've got some secrets to share. Here's a quick guide to elevate your daily grind: 𝐅𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐡 𝐢𝐬 𝐁𝐞𝐬𝐭: Start with whole beans and grind them just before brewing. 𝐖𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐬 𝐖𝐨𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬: Use filtered water to avoid off-flavors. Coffee is mostly water, so make it a good base 𝐓𝐞𝐦𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐓𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐬: Aim for 195°F to 205°F. Too hot and you'll scorch the beans, too cool and you'll miss the flavors. 𝗠𝗲𝗮𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗠𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀: Consistency is key! Use a scale for coffee and water to get the perfect ratio. 𝐓𝐢𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐢𝐬 𝐄𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠:Don't rush the brew. Whether it's a French press (4 minutes) or pour-over (about 3 minutes), let the water and coffee mingle properly. 🔽Curious coffee cats, what's your secret to a heavenly cup? Coffee fact: You shouldn’t drink coffee that was roasted yesterday. Instead, buy coffees that are ~1 month old. Here’s why: During roasting, the coffee bean expands and forms small air pockets. As the coffee cools, it shrinks, trapping CO2 within the pockets. When you brew a freshly roasted coffee, the trapped CO2 prevents the hot water from dissolving all the fats and sugars that give the coffee flavor and texture. You miss out on all the sweetness and body because there’s too much CO2. It can take 14 to 90 days for the CO2 to completely diffuse from coffee. The flavor of your coffee will change as it rests. And it is most flavorful months after the roast date! Coffee roasters who sell you on freshness are going for more favorable cash flow, NOT more flavorful coffee.

Meet the peaberry - a unique gem in the world of coffee! ☕️ Unlike the usual two-bean setup inside a coffee cherry, sometimes nature has other plans. When only one bean develops, it grows into a small, round marvel known as a peaberry. These rare beans often boast a more concentrated flavor, making them a sought-after treat for coffee lovers. Have you ever tried a peaberry brew? #XaymacaCoffee #PeaberryPerfection #CoffeeFacts"

I've been tasting lots of different coffee concentrates lately. ☕✨ This is how I've been evaluating them - with cold water and then with whole milk. But a client just used hot water, which is not a bad idea, either, depending on the application. 🤔 Do you use a cupping spoon and slurp the black version? 🥄 Cold brew is so different from hot brewed coffee. Fewer notes to detect is one big one. I'm curious to hear how other coffee folks out there are judging cold brew concentrates. Please share any thoughts below. 👇 This will certainly be an ongoing practice, I have a feeling. #specialtycoffee #coffeebusiness #coffeeconcentrate

Looking at the range of coffee beans, it's easy to tell what makes dark roast coffee taste different from light roast coffee. Farther along that scale, specifically when medium roasts start to turn dark, it's more difficult for the average coffee consumer to note the disparity between two similar roasts. Although they're only a few degrees apart, there is a subtle way to tell continental and high roast coffee apart. https://lnkd.in/emUduB23

The thing about cold brew, is that the roast range is much more narrow than drip coffee, or even French press, or espresso. All revolves around medium roast.
