Sports initiatives, such as those in Kakuma Refugee Camp, demonstrate how football can bridge cultural divides, reduce tensions, and foster community cohesion. These programs not only provide therapeutic escape but also empower refugee youth with life skills and educational opportunities, proving that sport is a powerful tool for social integration and hope. We are starting the second to last week of this 2023, an year full of horrors and bliss, like many of the circumstances of life itself...For our Network times often needs campaigns, initiatives and many projects, often long-term, of which we usually share results, outputs and opportunities. Nonetheless projects are made by and for people, even when we don't directly see them and the most ambitious and complex ones require strong commitment, professionalism and team-work. This is the case indeed of the REFUGIN Project (Communitarian Approach for a holistic young-refugee long-term integration),which focuses on strengthening the role of key civil society professionals on the medium-to-long-term integration of young refugees. The project strives to improve young refugee integration via the improvement of the knowledge and skills of education professionals and NGOs working comprehensively with forcibly displaced youth, as well as through the direct capacitation of young refugees. To share with you a little glimpse of it and to comemmorate this year #MigrantsDay, we are delighted to show you this short video made during the 3rd Transnational Partner Meeting of the project, which happened in Athens in September and that was hosted by KMOP. it's clear that if we come together and include refugees, lived experience and IDPs, along with all stakeholders in all processes concerning finding durable solutions on refugee's crisis globally. I can testify this after attending the GRF2023 where the presence of refugee leaders and Refugee-Led Initiatives brought an insightful impact.

Reflecting on my recent visit to Dzaleka Refugee Camp, I'm reminded of the privilege of peace in our country. It's a stark contrast to the reality faced by many displaced individuals worldwide. 🕊️ SDG 16 emphasizes the importance of peace, justice, and strong institutions. However, as I witness the challenges faced by refugees firsthand, I question if we're truly living up to this goal. 🌍 As youths, our actions play a crucial role in achieving SDG 16. We must ask ourselves: how much of what we do influences progress towards this goal? Additionally, we cannot ignore the fact that we, too, are affected by the aftermath of conflicts and lack of peace. 🤔 One key aspect is leveraging the skills of idle youth within the camp. Many talented individuals are waiting for opportunities to contribute positively to society. By providing them with platforms to showcase their abilities, we not only empower them but also strengthen our communities. 💪 Collaboration is essential in addressing these challenges. Together, we can create pathways for inclusion and ensure that no one is left behind. However, it's vital that our efforts remain within the boundaries of the law to uphold justice and fairness. ⚖️ Let's come together as youth leaders and advocates for change. Let's work towards a future where peace and opportunities are accessible to all, regardless of their background or circumstances.
