It's time to introduce Norn Group, a 501c3 working since 2021 to accelerate the #Longevity field. We've stayed pretty quiet so far, but we're expanding our efforts so I'm now hiring a Chief of Staff: https://norn.group/ for JD+application form, and below for more detail about the organization. #AgingBiology represents the biggest lever we have for improving human health. But the field is short on funding and missing key tools to form an actionable paradigm. So Norn has pursued leveraged opportunities to change the rate of progress. Donors including Juan Benet, James Fickel, Vitalik Buterin, Robert Rosenkranz, Hevolution Foundation, Michael Antonov and more have let Impetus to deploy >$34M towards research with the potential to establish a new paradigms in aging. With the Longevity Apprenticeship we sought to train new leaders in the field. The cohort of five has contributed two startups, new rounds for Impetus, and more. We're now scaling our talent efforts with the Norn Nexus community (https://lnkd.in/guuDquYH), and an upcoming scholarship program. We also produce resources that we think will be helpful for the field, such as this list of age-related diseases with guidance on models and clinical trials, to guide researchers and startups towards fruitful exploration of therapeutic potential: https://lnkd.in/gJaBzGCS There's so much more for us to do. A future without disease. More than a noble cause, it's our duty. We can do better than fighting one disease at a time. The vision is clear: accelerate the pace of scientific discovery by creating highly relevant datasets of biomedical data & clinically validated biomarkers of aging. Researchers will test hypotheses 100x faster! Clinical trials targeting multiple diseases will become feasible and economically viable, unleashing a new era of medicine.
