We have partners with an #FQHC to provide implicit bias training. In part of it, the participants have shared stores of their experiences. There are SO MANY where patients were turned away from even making appointments, discharged from ERs inappropriately, and just overall received very substandard care due to #languagebarrier. I'm thankful for this research, and at the same time, it's common sense. If we were in China and needed healthcare, it would mean the world to find someone who spoke English. This is a fascinating use of #onlinecommunities. Often when I read #messageboards, I do wish that they could shown to #physicians, but it takes a long time to sift through them. This paper looked at how #machinelearning can synthesize what is happening and then #teach physicians. I would love to see this kind of tool implemented in more #femtech products. This is another area where having a #clinician on your team can help bridge the divide between #femtech and #clinicalteams.
