Easing inflation, potential rate cuts boost backlog “Backlog continues to hold up remarkably well despite high interest rates, inflation and emerging weakness in the broader economy,” said Anirban Basu, ABC chief economist. “While contractor confidence regarding the outlook for sales and staffing levels fell modestly in June, all three Construction Confidence Index components are higher than they were a year ago.” Read More >>> https://ow.ly/QwXh50SCj9f #ShannonConstruction #Construction #ConstructionNews #ConstructionIndustry #ConstructionManagement #DesignBuild #Constructor #GeneralContractor #Contractor #Contractors #LEED #GreenBuilding #Buildings #Architecture #GeneralConstruction #ConstructionSafety #ConstructionCareers #MarylandConstruction #WashingtonDCConstruction #PittsburghConstruction #PAConstruction #GovernmentConstruction #VisionforGrowth

Growth in construction costs have been notified leading to a normalcy in the market. This sector has seen a deceleration over the past few years specially since pandemic days. It is a sigh of relief for the market participants to finally get out of the harrowing shadows of the Covid-days. CoreLogic‘s Cordell Construction Cost Index (CCCI), which tracks the cost of building a new dwelling, recorded a growth rate of 0.8% over the three months December, 20 basis points below the pre-Covid decade average of 1.2%. The annual growth for 2023 came in at 2.9%, below the pre-Covid decade average of 4.0%. A representative of CoreLogic noted these latest figures suggest re-acceleration is more a return to trend rather than a new surge in construction costs. “While up over the quarter, the annual change in residential construction costs continued to ease as larger quarterly increases fell out of the annual calculation,” she said. “This suggests that growth in construction costs have normalised after recording a recent peak of 11.9% over the 12 months to December 2022, albeit at a higher level.” #ConstructionCosts #MarketNormalcy #Deceleration #PandemicImpact #ResidentialConstruction #EconomicTrends #MarketUpdate #BuildingIndustry #GrowthNormalization #ConstructionSector #EconomicRecovery

VEGO Building System by MAH (My Affordable House): High-quality, energy-efficient, and robust building components produced at a rate of 20,000 square feet per hour.
By standardizing components and leveraging mass production, you can significantly streamline your supply chain, reduce costs, and improve profitability. Standardization: Consistency: Ensures uniformity in quality and dimensions, reducing variability and errors during assembly. Efficiency: Simplifies the production process, enabling faster production rates and easier troubleshooting. Scalability: Facilitates scaling up production without significant changes to processes or tooling. Mass Production: Economies of Scale: Reduces the per-unit cost of production as the volume increases. Supplier Negotiations: Allows for bulk purchasing of raw materials at lower costs. Reduced Lead Times: Streamlines manufacturing processes and inventory management, leading to faster production cycles. Connection Systems: Speed: Quick and easy assembly methods reduce labor time and costs. Skill Reduction: Minimizes the need for highly skilled labor, allowing for a broader workforce and lower wage costs. Reliability: Ensures secure and consistent connections, enhancing the overall quality and durability of the final product. By focusing on these areas, your production process can achieve significant improvements in efficiency and profitability.

@GaryFleisher, thank you for sharing your thoughts following the modular factory tour. You are right, controlling rising costs is one of several other value add tipping points in addressing today’s pain points.. How many think that by offering year-round, radiant comfort (warm and radiantly cool floors) backed by zero energy bills could lead to the emotional buyin from the customer. This solution is hidden in plane sight today.

The main exceptions, as mentioned last month, are PIR insulation which has experienced a more significant price increase, and timber, where prices for some products continue to fluctuate. “Regarding shipping, the Group continue to monitor the impact of hostilities in the Middle East on supply lines between Asia and the UK via the Red Sea, but any impact on costs and delivery times are said to be modest and manageable. “Inclement weather and stubbornly high interest and mortgage rates in the first half of the year slowed activity and demand, but there are now signs that ....
