The first four reports of the #EPBD.wise project The first four reports of the #EPBD.wise project analyzing public policy needs and good practices focus on five key topics in six countries. The topics analyzed are # NBRP - National Building Renovation Plans, #ZEB standard - Zero Emission Buildings, # EPCs - Energy Performance Certificates, # MinimumEnergyPerformanceStandards - Renovation Passports and Minimum Energy Performance Standards. Each report provides a broad overall assessment of policy needs on each topic and identifies the essential details and key points that will need to be given particular attention for each country. Over the three-year implementation period, project partners will work with public authorities in six European countries (Bulgaria, Greece, Hungary, Poland, Romania and Ukraine) to provide support for effective implementation of the EPBD. The overall aim of the project is to provide the necessary tools for the development, implementation and evaluation of key provisions of the EPBD to ensure that buildings across Europe are aligned with the EU's climate objectives. Starting with mapping policy needs and good practices in the six target countries, #EPBD.wise aims to build replicable models to support the large-scale implementation of energy efficiency policies in buildings across Europe. There could not be a more timely project on European building policy. EPBD.wise aims to help Member States develop better policies and robust governance frameworks for buildings decarbonization. Keep an eye on it: https://lnkd.in/dt4eFrvd.
The new #EPBDwise project has begun! The LIFE Programme-funded project aims to kickstart action to decarbonise Europe’s buildings and ensure a comprehensive implementation of the #EPBD. The project consortium will build a replicable model to support the widespread implementation of new or strengthened measures in the EPBD revision: ✅ Zero-emission building standards ✅ National building renovation plans ✅ Renovation passports ✅ Energy performance certificates ✅ Minimum energy performance standards Find out more about our exciting new project here: https://bit.ly/47UWdtK CINEA - European Climate, Infrastructure and Environment Executive Agency LIFE Programme BPIE - Buildings Performance Institute Europe Technische Universität Wien e-think energy research ADENE - Agência para a Energia ENEA ÉMI Nonprofit Kft. “To ensure that buildings are fit for the EU's enhanced climate ambition under the European Green Deal, the revised directive will contribute to the objective of reaching emission reductions of at least 60% in the building sector by 2030 compared to 2015 and achieving climate neutrality by 2050. It will work hand in hand with other policies of the Green Deal package, in particular with the emissions trading system for fuels used in buildings, the revised Energy Efficiency Directive (EU/2023/1791), the revised Renewable Energy Directive (EU/2023/2413), as well as the Alternative Fuels Infrastructure Regulation. Other measures in the revised EPBD include a gradual phase-out of stand-alone boilers powered by fossil fuels, starting with the end of subsidies to such boilers from 1 January 2025. “
Today, the revised #EPBD was published in the Official Journal! https://lnkd.in/dB2A5Kk9
