Gogo Business Aviation, alongside Duncan Aviation, successfully installed the first Gogo Galileo HDX system on a Bombardier Challenger 300, marking a major step toward the system's commercial launch later this year. Flight testing is underway, and the system promises faster, global broadband connectivity via low-earth orbit (LEO) satellites. According to Mark Winter, satellite manager at Duncan Aviation, the initial tests were impressive, connecting eight devices simultaneously. The installation highlights seamless integration for aircraft already equipped with Gogo’s AVANCE platform. Sergio Aguirre, Gogo’s president and COO, emphasized the reliability of the Eutelsat OneWeb network, which delivers enterprise-grade connectivity without sharing bandwidth with consumer users. With strong industry support, Gogo plans to roll out the faster Galileo FDX antenna in 2025, promising speeds up to 195 Mbps. Air France has become the latest airline to turn to SpaceX for its Ku-band Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite-powered Starlink inflight connectivity. The SkyTeam member in a statement this morning confirms it will fit its entire fleet with the Starlink IFC system to support free Wi-Fi for passengers. In doing so, Air France will replace multiple connectivity providers, including Anuvu (formerly Global Eagle), Intelsat (formerly Gogo’s commercial division) and Panasonic Avionics. Starlink-powered IFC service will gradually start rolling out on Air France aircraft from summer 2025, says the carrier, and passengers can expect a “home-like” experience. Available in all travel cabins, the free service will be accessible to Flying Blue loyalty members.
