What’s stopping your business from taking on an apprentice? Cost is quite a common concern, especially for SMEs with fewer than 50 employees. Time is another, with many smaller businesses worried about the paperwork involved. But what if someone else fills in the forms and foots the training bill for you? Well, that’s exactly what the apprenticeship levy transfer scheme from Surrey County Council offers – with funding to train dozens of apprentices currently available. This makes it an ideal way for Surrey SMEs to recruit while providing opportunities to local residents. Want to find out more? We've been having an incredible time working with colleges and universities this year, helping them find new businesses to work with through educating employers.. Non-levy employers can receive 100% apprenticeship funding from the UK provided they meet (easy) criteria.. It's a simple message that has opened hundreds of doors for the companies we work with, if only businesses knew the benefits and funding available!! #apprenticeships #education #businessdevelopment

Apprenticeships work as a bridge between education and employment, offering a hands-on approach to learning that benefits both apprentices and employers. Employers can also benefit financially through a variety of government incentives and grants. Small businesses are the backbone of the British economy and many take students straight out of High School to develop them into Chartered Accountants. There is currently a shortage of Accountants and a huge focus on putting money into disadvantaged areas to help provide more opportunities to working class students. Abolishing the Level 7 apprenticeship levy will remove all the positive progress made to drive the much needed change in the way education and places of work co-exist. Firms are desperate for employees and students are desperate for work with learning opportunities. Removing the levy will lead to a huge reduction in apprenticeship places, as firms simply won’t be able to afford the training and salaries necessary. This is despite the fact that investing in apprentices is beneficial in the long-run for businesses, as they then have qualified professionals who understand the standards required and culture of the workplace ready to apply for roles with more responsibility internally. From a financial point of view, the government will have to fork out even more money in student loans-as those who would’ve done apprenticeships will have no choice but to go to university. They likely won’t be earning enough to pay tax on wages received from part-time jobs whilst studying and will probably end up working in a job that doesn’t require them to have a degree anyway (whilst lacking the skills and experience to do the job they end up in). Removing the levy makes no sense any way you dress it up and will do huge damage to the future of Accountancy and other industries. It would cause most damage to the career prospects of working class students from disadvantaged communities. We’ve got to make sure the levy remains in place. #apprenticeships #level7apprenticeships #accounting

We are proud of the quality training programmes we deliver and how this is consistently reflected in our reviews, success stories and testimonials. We have been rated “Excellent” by both apprentices and employers in the apprenticeship reviews that are gathered by the Education and Skills Funding Agency and feature on the “Find an Apprenticeship” service. This is further evidence of our commitment to both learners and organisations, highlighting our outcome focussed approach and incredible support from start to finish. I have always felt privileged to work in a sector where I see people achieve their career goals, overcome challenges and celebrate what is a monumental effort to gain a professional qualification/higher level apprenticeship. By using apprenticeships, more individuals have had access to gaining career development opportunities. They have benefited from the support an apprenticeship provides and smaller employers have benefited from being able to provide this development for their staff. There is a constant narrative that the UK has a skills gap in many areas, so why take away funding that addresses this on so many levels? Kaplan UK's impact report based on a survey of over 1400 L7 apprentices and employers shows why Level 7 should be retained and the damage from not doing so: https://lnkd.in/eZWRcaRW

We’re excited by several new funding opportunities in UK apprenticeships for 2024/25, designed to simplify the work of Apprenticeship Providers. Key changes include reducing administrative tasks by eliminating the need for employers to sign off on each progress review. Learning support claims are now less cumbersome, with reviews every three months instead of monthly. Furthermore, the updated transfer policy gives levy-paying providers more freedom to use transfers for training. What do you think of the latest Apprenticeship funding rules? Check them out via the link in our comments and let us know how these new rules will affect you! #EducationNews #DepartmentForEducation #Apprenticeships #UKApprenticeships #BostonRose #BuildingRelationships
