🟥 Unionist politicians think they just killed independence stone dead ✊ Let’s prove them wrong. We don’t stop, we will never give up, we will campaign until we win and we will win. Independence is not about politics or General Elections but about the wellbeing of Scotland’s people and our nation’s future. It’s about decisions being made in Scotland, for Scotland, by the people of Scotland. The Unionist politicians think they have just been given a mandate to continue to extract our wealth and redirect our nation’s energy resources, to suppress our culture and subvert our nation’s potential for their own gain and their London-centric political games. They want us to feel scunnered, beaten up and exhausted. They are counting on us giving up. Join the grassroots independence campaign and prove them wrong. 20,000 others have already pledged their support, because only a non-party-political independence campaign can move independence support to the levels we need to win our independence. 👇 We Believe in Scotland – Join us! https://lnkd.in/erHcjAxv

This isn’t your father’s “free world.” In fact, it’s far from free, thanks to elites and their suffocating grabs at unaccountable power. The political prisoners of January 6 know that. And so do the citizens of one European country after another, where censorship, legal persecution, and the whole apparatus of totalitarian power are increasingly being aimed at Christians, conservatives, and populists. But those people are now pushing back. Right-leaning parties are rising despite every possible form of pressure applied by globalists and leftists. The upcoming European Parliament elections promise a significant shift in power, as populist, pro-growth, and pro-family sentiments stir among voters who are sick of being experimented upon. https://lnkd.in/dR8QQF2F

#ukpolitics #ukgovernment #populism The UK Reform Party was formed in 2021. Like it or not, it is the political movement with real momentum in the UK, being the third largest by amount of absolute votes cast and gaining the largest % share gains in the 2024 GE. It has a clear narrative. Its conference, not widely covered by MSM, demonstrated a unity and clarity that the other major parties do not have. I did not vote for Reform in 2024, am not a member, but note that it is the only party actually asking the difficult Qs that the UK establishment and elites wish to rugsweep. I make no comment on the answers it has. That’s not the point of this post. If the main Q in the next election is about the sort of country the UK wishes to be, this party is already acting as the official UK opposition. The Conservative Party needs to work out what its core beliefs and values are and what it actually stands for. It needs to get its act together very quickly amd develop a clear political narrative as to how it will deliver such and explain why any future Conservative government will be different from the last several which “accomplished” the exact opposite of what their manifestos promised.

A New Dawn Whatever your politics, the UK is waking up to a new government and a new Prime Minister in Keir Starmer. The historically unprecedented collapse of the Conservative vote and decamation of the SNP - coupled with the rise of Reform and strong performances by many independents - have heralded in a very solid Labour majority, after a successful Ming vase campaign by the new government, and the best Liberal Democrat performance since 1923. But make no mistake - the emerging results paint a picture of a British political, electoral and societal landscape more complex and muddled than at any point in my lifetime. And with the recent British Social Attitudes Survey showing staggering levels of political disengagement and many public institutions on their knees, there will be no scope whatsoever for triumphalism and much work to do for the incoming administration. Add to that the mismatch between votes cast and seats won - particularly for Reform and the Lib Dems - and we may see a renewed debate (at a minimum) about the FPTP electoral system. LinkedIn is not a place for politics and this is not a political post. But the election of a centre-left government in the UK - counter to many rightwards trends across Europe and elsewhere - is a noteworthy moment amid considerable flux and complexity here and around the world. #generalelection #politics #election #policy #government #leadership

Yesterday, Dan Sillett argued that the lack of alternative deliverers of change meant that it would be sensical to vote for the Conservatives at the upcoming election. Will Kingston-Cox fundamentally disagrees this morning, in his Sunday column. Kingston-Cox challenges Dan Sillett's suggestion to vote for the Conservatives, arguing that it would not bring about any change in the UK. He believes that the duopoly of Labour and the Conservatives stifles innovation and neglects critical issues, making a vote for the Tories counterproductive. He argues that smaller parties like Reform UK, the Liberal Democrats, and the Green Party play a crucial role in challenging the political status quo. He emphasises that these parties offer alternative policies and perspectives that can disrupt the dominance of the two main parties and provide necessary checks and balances on future governments. Ultimately, Kingston-Cox asserts that the current first-past-the-post system is inadequate, and advocates for proportional representation to better reflect the diverse political views of the electorate and promote accountability and responsiveness within the Labour-Tory duopoly. #ge2024 #labour #conservatives #reformuk #libdems #green #nigelfarage https://lnkd.in/ewnhfmGP

The Labour Party won big in the U.K. earlier this month, and takes charge of the country as a new Parliament starts Wednesday. Keir Starmer, the incoming prime minister, has outlined aggressive changes to the private equity sector in his party’s campaign manifesto. The change in leadership comes at a time of economic uncertainty in the country. #LabourParty #UKPolitics #KeirStarmer #PrimeMinister #PoliticalChange #EconomicUncertainty #NewParliament #PrivateEquityReforms #UKGovernment #PoliticalNews #EconomicPolicy #LeadershipChange #UKEconomy #GovernmentUpdates #PoliticalLeadership #trending #viral #instagram #explorepage #instagood #love #fashion #reels #follow

Days like today are rare. A generational moment that will change the political landscape of the UK. Labour is going to win the election. The only question is the size of the victory. And that matters as it affects who comes second and becomes the official Opposition. That title comes with privileges the other parties don’t enjoy. The right to have 17 Opposition days to select debates (compared to 3 for the next party); to face the Prime Minister over the Dispatch Box at PMQs, and to be the party that the BBC gives a right of reply to government business. So coming second matters. Now imagine if it’s the Lib Dems who are the Opposition. Not the Tories. What would the tone of politics be like with a Lib Dem opposition rather than the Conservatives. What policies and angles would be aired? What subjects would they scrutinise the government over compared to the Conservatives. Billy Bragg yesterday wrote on Twitter: “I realise many of you out there are frustrated with the choices you’re being offered by both Labour and the LibDems. But surely we can agree that they are preferable to the Tories?" He said: “This once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to kick the Tories into third place will only happen if enough people vote tactically to defeat their local Conservative.” And for what it’s worth, Billy Bragg is not alone in calling for tactical voting to remove the Tories. Gary Neville, Steve Coogan, Carol Vorderman, and more, are calling for it too. I’m fed up with the Conservatives. That’s putting it mildly. They’re morally bankrupt, and bankrupt of ideas and trust too. I want them out of government. Their polices have failed, they’ve crashed the country, and their message throughout the campaign has been negative and driven by the politics of fear. They’ve no vision of their own. But I fear their message will cut through and sway many people today. So, today if you want proper change then vote smart. Vote tactically. Let’s kick the Tories into third place or worse.
