🔍 Thesis Review: Revitalization of Saraga Through the Application of the Theory of Planned Behavior 🔍 I recently had the opportunity to serve as an external examiner for Auliya Firasyan Muhammad’s thesis from ITB’s Master’s Program in Architecture at SAPPK ITB. The thesis, “Revitalisasi Saraga Melalui Penerapan Theory of Planned Behavior,” is a remarkable piece of work that strategically applies the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB) to revitalize the Saraga sports facility. What truly impressed me was the depth of analysis and the innovative design solutions proposed by Auliya. By integrating TPB, the thesis provides a user-centered approach to architectural design, focusing on how space can shape and enhance user behaviors. This approach not only aligns with current user needs but also considers future adaptability—ensuring that Saraga remains a relevant and vibrant part of the community. Here are some key strengths I noted: 1. Comprehensive Contextual Analysis: Auliya’s thorough understanding of the existing conditions at Saraga forms a strong foundation for the proposed interventions. 2. Behavioral Integration: The application of TPB to influence routine and spending behaviors through architectural design is both innovative and practical. 3. Sustainability Focus: The design solutions prioritize creating multifunctional spaces that can evolve with the community’s needs.
