Activated Results by innovating with creativity and implementing ideas with energetic force. The Love of Learning propels my life.
CAN A WALL BECOME A CHOICE . . . NOT A BARRIER? The wall was an overlooked 110-year-old building, neglected for 50 years. Its roof and much of its third floor had been destroyed. Finally, the building, located in Chestnut Hill, Philadelphia, was condemned by the city of Philadelphia. The local newspaper shouted for attention about the loss! Along with a few others, I fought to save the building by producing dozens of letters followed by phone calls. The owner of the building retaliated with an ultimatum: “To halt the demolition, raise $4800 in 48 hours!” At the zero hour we met the challenge, only to face a harsher hurdle: Raise the necessary money to build the walls, install a new roof, and renovate the building. “It’s not what happens to you that matters. It’s what you do about it.” - Nido Qubein, “ATTITUDE The Remarkable Power of Optimism” The challenge was harsh: Not only were we novice fundraisers but also We were recent newcomers from outside Philadelphia with few local contacts. In the 1960s we faced another hurdle: This accepted belief reigned: “There is nothing historic in Chestnut Hill.” Only monumental buildings in Philadelphia such as Independence Hall qualified as “historic.” We gained time enough to: Attract key support and raise the required money. Today, the three-story stone building stands as a landmark. Our actions gave birth to the Chestnut Hill Historical Society, now known as the Chestnut Hill Conservancy. Today the Conservancy ‘s actions meet ever-present challenges: It reaches out to save stone walls in Chestnut Hill and beyond into neighboring communities. #thriving #wellbeing #optimism #attitude

North Carolina & Needs After spending 5 days in NC searching for missing... The firefighters on the ground are playing a vital role in helping their communities. These amazing teams are helping people rebuild their driveways, perform construction inside their homes, and clearing trees that required a chainsaw with a 4 foot bar! All for no cost to the homeowners! If you have ever met a firefighter... They normally have a side hustle and talents because the fire/ems salary is so low! If you know any firefighters who have their own business - We need to maximize the outreach for NC folk. Here are things that are needed for rebuilding: Drywall Because of high flood waters - Many homes are severely damaged with respect to drywall, insulation, etc. We need to hang new drywall, mud it, paint it. De-Humidifiers Due to the water inside homes - We need an arsenal of dehumidifiers. Flooring Many homes need their entire sub floors replaces along with carpet, vinyl, or that vinyl panel floor stuff. Flooring Businesses I know the economy is horrible! But if you can spare some flooring, we will find a good home to put it in. Solar Panel Businesses If you have solar panels to donate - Let me know and we will setup some families with minimal solar coverage to keep essentials alive when new storms come. Home Generators If you are a business that does whole home generators - We can use your help! We know you can't equip every home... But if you are willing to donate - We can equip many of the regional churches and fire departments so they have backup infrastructure to care for their communities. Drywall Suppliers If you can supply 1/4, 1/2, 3/4 drywall - Let me know. Window Companies We need windows as well - Many where busted by the flood waters. Automotive/Trucks/SUVs Many families lost everything! House, contents, family members, and their vehicles. We are looking for auto dealers who can provide trucks and SUVs. Regretfully - Sedans don't do too well down there. If you have used or new trucks to donate - Please get with me and we will work out the details of paperwork and 501c3 donation matters. Residential Bridge Construction We need certified engineers w/ NC creds and labor/materials to rebuild bridges from primary road to homes. Where old bridges were washed out. Many of the footings are still present - But the bridge itself is gone. Closing... If you love your neighbor and want to help NC folks rebuild - Reach out to me with your professional abilities/certs/lic, resources you can obtain, and what dates you can deploy. The damage down there is of biblical proportion... No joke! It's unbelievable! If you have a heart for others and you are willing to donate your time and materials... Email me at social@afrs.us Of all the causes we see online - This is a worthy cause that directly impacts families who matter. Let's lace up our boots and get to work!

Bi Lingual Real Estate Broker with Keller Williams Realty Ballantyne Area Serving North and South Carolina.
Just like that, the Monday-est Month of the year is over and February is here! 🗓️✔️ Here is your monthly home checklist to take the mental load away from those yearly homeownership to-do's that no one has time for: 1️⃣ Boost Warmth + Lower your Heating Bill - Add warmth to your space with rugs, throws, & duvets. Lower your energy bill by fixing any gaps in your front or back doors, shut doors to unused rooms, move furniture away from vents, & close the chimney flue when not being used. 2️⃣ Linen Closet Cleanse - did you get new sheets or towels over the holidays? Make room in your linen closet by donating lightly used linens to local homeless shelters, churches, or animal shelters. Too worn? Cut up old linens to repurpose as rags. 3️⃣ Entryway floors - winter months are hard on your floors. Give your entryways a good mop & add a decorative basket to store a few old rags for quick clean-ups. #FebruaryHomeTips #RealtorAdvice #LoveYourHome #HomeTips #RealEstate
