Safe System Snippet  The facts: motorcyclists crashing into barrier systems represent 1.4% of all fatal crashes in Australia and New Zealand. What type of barriers are in these 1.4% of fatal crashes?   - W-beam (72.7% of the 1.4%)  - Concrete (10.4% of the 1.4%) as per the below video  - Wire rope (7.8% of the 1.4%).     It’s important to use reputable evidence bases when making decisions in road safety. This information helps us focus resources and gives us the ability to prevent as much motorcyclist trauma as possible.     This information is from the extensive research undertaken by the University of New South Wales over a period of 10 years.
