In the startup realm and motherhood alike, it takes a village 😌 . We came to #expowest not only to support our brand partnerships but meet all the new brands out there bringing their ideas to life. Yes, there are endless amounts of delicious snacks + drinks but NOTHING beats the passionate energy radiating from the teams at every booth. Below are our top fav insights from this years show 💛 #1: Brands are not only creating products specifically designed FOR women, they are lead + founded BY women! Such a powerful and inspirational moment for us as fellow #mompreneurs to see these booths absolutely crushing it!!! VC firms, retailers and consumers were completely captivated by the energy + vision behind these brands and it clearly showed in their products + team. It's no surprise to us at all but #women are on 🔥 🔥 🔥 and there is no stopping them now 👊 🙌 👏 #2: It's all about the gut- It's no surprise today that SO much of your overall mental + physical health starts from "your gut". Brands across all sectors in food, supplements, and beverages are exploring new technology + applications to better understand the #microbiome and applying that knowledge to products in our everyday life. We have only scratched the surface here but these powerful insights will continue to create opportunities for these brands to develop more innovative products + services to help customers design their own personalized gut health plan in whatever way they choose. #3: Convenience + protein = #goals -from on-the-go kids high protein snacks to adult protein smoothies in pouches, shelf-stable eggs, freeze-dried chicken strips and of course our beloved meat sticks, brands are finding ways to bring super simple, clean and whole food protein snacks on the road. No one can argue that #highprotein has been super HOT over the last few years but now we are seeing brands invest in even more innovative ways to make it super convenient to incorporate into our life than ever before. And no one can appreciate that convenience and flexibility more than #moms. How much does the M&S Food Zoe Gut Shot cost? The shots are sold individually and cost £2. The Zoe nutrition programme costs £299.99 to join, and then £24.99 each month for access to its app. This product contains NON CERTIFIED ORGANIC COW MILK, best advice - avoid this product if you have concerns about antibiotics that may be present in non-organic dairy products. 🤔 No nutrition facts panel published on the M&S web site - why is that? Do the Zoe gut microbes resist gastric acid? Explain what is meant by 'World First'. The front label fails to state the volume of contents in ml's. The product was developed by a professor, a team of scientists plus M&S all taking a slice out of the sales revenue. Nice one! QUESTION: How many more APP'S and monthly subscriptions are consumers prepared to pay for and store on their smart phones? Big profits expected from the dumb customers they hope to attract. 😮 ________________________________________

M&S and Zoe launched a bold collaboration this week -- a gut shot! I hope that they're only sharing the tip of this iceberg. I hope this is more than just a new product on the shelf and some co-marketing... The reason I say this is the top companies in the world need to start using platforms to deepen the insight and impact of their collaborations this year by guiding the entire consumer experience before and after purchase -- this is what defines innovation in 2024. ➡ Without platforms, collaboration typically delivers just something new to say or sell. In the case of M&S, this partnership feels like a bold but natural extension of the innovation, health and sustainability work they've been doing in their Food division for years. It could be a new hallmark revenue stream for M&S (the healthy equivalent of Percy Pigs) and it could increase the frequency of visits to stores (I assume you take the health shots daily/weekly?). Without platforms, this collaboration may not become anything more. ➡ With platforms, collaboration can be one of the most efficient ways to reimagine entire customer journeys and eat up your competition. In the case of M&S, imagine what the (real or online) food aisle might look like if M&S had anonymized access to the gut health, blood fat tests and blood sugar profiles of their customers. This is not just M&S food.  This is your M&S food. At a minimum, M&S could share exactly what you need to buy this week to deliver on the health goals you're tracking through Zoe. For your budget, and based on what M&S already knows you love to eat. It could be a gamechanger for the brand (as a whole, not just the food division) - that is, if they use platforms so that there's more to this iceberg.
