Last week, I had the pleasure of attending the 30th ITS World Congress held in Dubai. In addition to being a notable exhibitor, Parsons Corporation was a Presenting Partner at this year's congress. Key Highlights #AutomatedMobility A major theme of the congress focused on the global development of automated driving systems. However, there was consensus that achieving widespread adoption requires overcoming regulatory and safety challenges. Several companies also demonstrated their latest autonomous vehicle prototypes, providing insights into the future of transportation. #CleanMobility Several sessions highlighted the role of intelligent systems in creating clean mobility and a sustainable future. The sessions discussed electric vehicles (#EVs), alternative fuels, and intelligent systems aimed at reducing emissions and improving air quality. The global drive to improve air quality and combat climate change has propelled clean mobility from a niche topic into a mainstream conversation at events like the ITS World Congress. #UrbanMobility Artificial Intelligence (#AI) and Vehicle-to-Everything (#V2X) technologies dominated the discussions, with a focus on improving traffic management, pedestrian safety, and equity in transportation. The congress emphasized AI’s role in making smart cities more efficient and V2X’ role in reaching Vision Zero in transportation (i.e., zero road fatalities, zero congestion, and zero emissions). #Innovation in #Mobility and #Logistics Innovation was at the forefront of the Congress, with papers and sessions focusing on new ideas in Mobility and Logistics. The congress spotlighted new technologies like unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) for cargo transport and 6G communication technologies, which can enhance logistics and connectivity in both urban and rural areas. We left with valuable insights, new connections, and a shared vision for a smarter and more sustainable future in transportation. Attending the Autonomous e-Mobility Forum at the Qatar National Convention Centre was an incredible experience! Organized by the Ministry of Transport, this event highlighted the future of sustainable transportation. Many thanks to Just us & Otto for creating such an innovative platform for exchange. The Autonomous e-Mobility Forum at the Qatar National Convention Centre underscored the urgency and global importance of driverless e-Mobility technology. This event brought together an international network of senior officials, policy and technology experts, and representatives from government, industry, academia, and media to advance the real-world implementation of autonomous e-Mobility. Accompanied by my friend Almabrouk Ben-Omran, I engaged in discussions on this revolutionary topic, particularly the critical intersection of cybersecurity and autonomous e-Mobility. The forum emphasized that cybersecurity is foundational in this field, with significant challenges in securing autonomous vehicles, protecting data integrity, and ensuring user privacy, all underpinned by Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC). The AEMOB Forum underscored the importance of collaborative efforts in driving innovation. As we move towards a future where driverless, electricity-powered vehicles become the norm, the integration of robust cybersecurity measures and strong GRC frameworks will be paramount in ensuring the safety, efficiency, and reliability of these technologies. La #gestione del traffico aereo e dei servizi di terra potrebbe vivere un incredibile #potenziamento in termini di sicurezza ed efficienza grazie ai #sensori, avanzati #sistemi di visione e intelligenza artificiale. 👨💻 ✅️ Se pensiamo a quanto sia limitata l'attenzione e la visuale degli operatori della torre di controllo rispetto ai sistemi di visione e i servizi #digitali, tra cui i warnings e gestione #automatica dei flussi…possiamo immaginare il balzo verso una nuova epoca del volo. ✅️ Simili sistemi sono ancora in fase di #sperimentazione e approvazione. Esistono numerosi quesiti in termini di #sicurezza, sia sul piano della #fallibilità che cyber sicurezza. In questo frangente emerge un aspetto a me caro, rendere l'elettronica estremamente robusto rispetto a #malfunzionamenti, intemperie, derive…molto appassionante. ✅️ I servizi di terra possono essere sincronizzati e monitorati con maggiore #efficienza, il cui time-saving consentirebbe fino a 200 voli aggiuntivi ogni anno in aeroporti come Londra.
