It is not possible for me to put into words my gratitude for the learning opportunities afforded to me (and the field) by Dr. Ala'i-Rosales. So in the absence of the right words, here are some of hers from a chapter and book we should all be more familiar with.
"Brief didactic instructions are not enough to change anything except possibly verbal behavior. We learn by doing. Verbal behavior is indeed an important skill, but actual teaching performances are required to change the behaviors that will make meaningful, measurable differences in the lives of the people our trainees are instructing." (Ala'i-Rosales et al., 2003, p. 161)

Women's History Month may have ended, but we want to continue on with our celebration of women in the field of behavior analysis. Today, we would like to recognize the incredible Shahla Ala'i-Rosales!
