We recently completed a project in Colorado for a small City treatment plant. The headworks to the treatment plant had a failed coating that was applied previously. To complete the job, we removed the old coating and prepped the surface with sandblasting to ensure all bacteria was removed prior to the new coating being applied. We utilized Sewer Shield Epoxy to give these structures new life! #Trenchless #Azuria #CandLWaterSolutions #epoxy #epoxycoating #rehabilitation #trenchlesstechnology

SWPPP Tip! Stability is Key: Remember to stabilize your drainage swales. Unstabilized drainages can result in scour, causing undermining of slopes and, in turn, BMP failure. Sediment controls, such as check dams, plastics, and blankets, should be considered in newly graded dikes, swales, and ditches to prevent scour and erosion. #deluge #delugeconsulting #swppptip #swppp #stabilty #erosioncontrol #bmp #bakersfield #california

"Ken Skorseth, a recognized expert on gravel road maintenance joins us now to describe the road base stabilization process. Before beginning a road stabilization project, evaluate the existing material and roadway geometry or shape. If the road is deteriorated, it is important to know why. Core sampling should be used to obtain undisturbed cross-sections of the underlying road base and soils for analysis. Take specific action to improve drainage, the depth of the road base, and the quality of underlying and adjacent soils if needed. Axle loads and traffic volume also influence decisions on the makeup of the new road base and should be considered in road base design. Finally, evaluate the quality of the existing aggregate to ensure it contains a proper mixture of fine and coarse material and sufficient plasticity to provide a natural binding characteristic. This analysis will help to determine if new aggregate is necessary." To be continued ... Source: Road Base Stabilization with Calcium Chloride video, OxyChem Calcium Chloride. What are Inlet Filter Inserts Inlet filters are point source filtration devices that treat stormwater at the individual inlet as opposed to end-of-pipe systems that typically have one treatment unit at the outfall. Detention/retention ponds and hydrodynamic separators are good examples of end-of-pipe, having only one area where all of the stormwater is brought to for treatment. Inlet-based treatment systems are always found inside the inlets in paved areas, and sometimes in grassy areas as well. The reason you typically won’t find these in grassy areas is that the grass will filter silt and sediment before it gets to these inlets. If the inlet is adjacent to a paved area treatment may be required, but this is at the discretion of the county during plan review, so not a decision we need to make. The drawings will show the location of the inlet filters. https://lnkd.in/gSJkHhjE #stormwater #civilengineering #stormwaterprofessionalsgroup #texas #detentionpond #propertymanagement
