Construction Professionals:
Don't sleep on OSHA violations/citations. Most importantly, there should be a culture of safety. People get hurt and killed on jobsites. You don't want that. Ever. OSHA plays a very involved role in workplace safety. If an OSHA inspector gets called to a site they can absolutely shut down a project. It will go a lot easier if you are proactive and work with them. In my experience, the more you stall or withhold information the worse it will go for you. Unfortunately, I've had a number of cases involving workplace fatalities. Contractors who are proactive and cooperative always fare better in the end. In the end, everyone just wants a safe work environment.
