It’s time for the Northland Business Excellence Awards 2024…and it’s not too late to get your entry in! WRMK Lawyers is proud to sponsor the Northland Business Excellence Awards again in 2024, and in particular a new category this year: Employer of Choice. For all entrants, the Awards are a great opportunity to check how your business is tracking across a number of core areas, and in a challenging year like 2024, the process provides an excellent opportunity to step back and objectively review your business while you complete your application. NorthChamber’s dedicated team are there to support you to complete your application, so you can reap the benefits of being an awards entrant, or perhaps even a Winner! We are really looking forward to reading this year’s Employer of Choice entries. This category is a great opportunity to showcase how your business looks after its people – who are arguably more important in trying times than in good! We’re not looking for flashy incentives – but great workplace cultures that really engage their teams – whatever that looks like for you. If you’re already entered, good on you! Keep up the mahi and get that entry finalised. Visit https://lnkd.in/g3GmRGTD or email info@northchamber.co.nz to find out more about entering the Awards, or support with your entry.

Peer Board Chair and Business Coach with first class leadership skills. Delivering high impact support for business owners through structure, common sense and a will to win.
Healthy debate, lively discussion..... One of the very best things about facilitating a peer2peer Boards meeting is the quality and tone of the debate and discussion that goes on around the table. 🔸 Whether it's an immediate issue that a member needs help with, a challenge from one member to another on the perceived best way forward for their business, or learning from one of our award winning upskill workshops, every person in the room is present to improve their business and their life. It's that simple. 🔸 Members are there to #connect with each other, to #inspire each other and to #support each other. Guess what..............? It works! 🔸 We provide a safe and confidential space for members to work on their business rather than in it for half a day every month. It's a time out to create a focus on your business that you cannot find elsewhere.. 💡 🤔 My next #peer2peer board at #silverstone takes place on Thursday 17th of this month and it's great to be returning to the Hilton Garden Inn Silverstone. It's not quite too late to register as a guest this month - but it soon will be. Message me for more details. #peerboard #businesssupport #confidential #businessgrowth We are members of Northamptonshire Chamber of Commerce, Milton Keynes Chamber of Commerce and Federation of Small Businesses (FSB), #fsb50

StudioLR on the path to becoming a B Corp As a business that’s spent the past two decades putting our people and communities first, we’re thrilled to be joining the Edinburgh B Corps 500 initiative as one of the inaugural 10 companies striving to achieve B Corp status, supported by Edinburgh can B. But achieving the lauded status is harder than you might expect. In fact as briefs go, it’s trickier than the one you’re currently stuck on the third round of amends for! To meet the B Corp criteria, verified by B Lab, all of our practices and outputs will be strictly evaluated, and we must be deemed to be reaching high standards of social and environmental performance, transparency and accountability. We know it’ll be tough, but hey, that comes with the territory when you’re as Gutsy as us! This isn’t about business as usual, it’s about business as it should be. I lead a team that helps foundations, government, and corporations strategically prioritize Black and Brown leadership to redistribute money, accelerate impact, increase profitability, and deepen mission fulfillment.
The first time I took notice of B Corp was through Maya Rockeymoore Cummings, Ph.D. (she/her). Her company, Global Policy Solutions, was certified, and I wondered what that meant. When I looked up the certification, I realized it aligned with my belief that businesses must also be good citizens. Yet, I had no earthly idea of how to approach the process. I thought to myself, "You’re already doing the work, Keecha. Why invest the time and resources to obtain the B Corp certification?" Well, why not? Fast forward to last spring… Clarenda Stanley M.Ed- a B Lab superstar- was sharing her experience in the Level program, which centers and supports Black and Brown women business owners in measuring their impact, earning B Corp Certification, and embedding our missions into our legal charters. Between what she described and how people were describing Alesha Hartley’s leadership of the program, I said to myself … now is your time. I just spent a few days with some fellow good corporate citizens at the B Lab U.S. & Canada Champions Retreat in Vancouver. This group of go-getters felt like home to me from the start. Dr. Cummings had it right: you can 'do' good and 'be' good. Meeting people like Aurora Archer, Rebecca Denson, Beth Salyers, Ph.D., Lucie Bourgeois, ASC, C. Dir., M.Sc., CRHA, and Gayle Jennings O'Byrne reminds me that Keecha Harris and Associates, Inc. has only just begun. Today is the deadline for YOU to apply for the Level program. Is this your time? We are excited for tomorrow's The GC Index accreditation. As Master Partners in the region, 33 Emeralds runs a two half-day virtual training in the ground-breaking The GC Index. It also includes 3 free practice links to use with candidates of your choice. The GC Index maps innovation potential and builds game changing, future-ready teams. But the applications are so much wider than that. With the Index we have the data to tackle these kinds of questions: 💪 How do we grow our impact as a team? 📈 What are our gaps and risk areas, and how can we turn these into opportunities? 🗣 What can we do to enhance communication and collaboration? 📊 How can we grow our business through our people? 💡 I am in transition with my career – what’s next for me? 💠 What is the profile of our high potential talent? Do we have the diversity we need to drive the change/transformation we need? It is too late to sign up for September, but October still has places. :) Visit the website here for 2024 dates, or to book a call about using this profiling tool: https://lnkd.in/dZtsk66G #thegcindex #gamechanger #teams #leaders #innovation Greg McHendrie Monique Hayward

🏆 Recognition matters, right? Last year, I consulted on the final select phase of a multi-year strategic infrastructure bid, one that would transform the Perth Rail System for our community. Unlike many of my colleagues who were involved earlier, I joined at this final phase. The bid team spanned across two companies, involving staff and consultants across the globe, showcasing the true power of international collaboration. 🎉 Our hard work paid off! Not only was the JV selected as the preferred proponent, but our bid team was also honoured with the prestigious 2024 Proposal Team Award by the APMP ANZ Chapter. This journey wasn't just about winning a bid; it was a testament to what happens when diverse talents unite under a shared vision. A heartfelt congratulations to this exceptional team: Mark King, Jess Lawrence, Meg Evans, Kamila Zajickova, Veronica Miller, Theresa Mohr, Theresa Mohr, Rikki Kho, Sonny K. 🌟 This experience reinforces the passion and dedication I bring daily to my role at Wood. Reflecting on this extensive bid process, here are my top insights for mastering large-scale and international proposals: 1️⃣ Know Your Unknowns: Simple yet profound. Understanding what we don't know reflects our pre-bid positioning efforts. Client relationships are the foundation, laid long before any bid begins. 2️⃣ Plan or Perish: From global contact lists (with time zones and leave dates) to bid trackers, templates, and early reviewer engagement—meticulous planning is non-negotiable. 3️⃣ Accountability as Anchor: In large teams, personal responsibility keeps everyone aligned and on course. Relationships allow us to manage expectations and provide additional resources early instead of letting deadlines slide. 4️⃣ Communicate to Collaborate: With a worldwide team, fostering strong relationships is pivotal. It's the secret sauce for seamless global teamwork. Recognition isn't just nice—it's necessary. It fuels our drive, validates our efforts, and reminds us that in the world of high-stakes proposals, teamwork transcends borders. 🌍💼 What's your take on the role of recognition in professional achievements? When was the last time you were recognised for your efforts? #GlobalTeamwork #BiddingExcellence #ProfessionalRecognition #LoveMyCareer #APMP
