Happy #WorldHeathDay! In Ethiopia, nearly half of all births happen at home, without a skilled healthcare provider present. This can pose significant risks for both mothers and babies. But there's hope! Strengthening Maternity Waiting Homes (MWHs) offers a powerful solution. What are Maternity Waiting Homes? They're a crucial part of #MOH's strategy, ensuring pregnant women, particularly in rural areas, access comprehensive obstetric care. These homes provide a safe refuge for expectant mothers living far from hospitals, offering them a place to stay in the weeks leading up to delivery. How do Maternity Waiting Homes make a difference? They: 1. Increase Accessibility 2. Reduce Second Delay 3. Improve Maternal Health Outcomes 4. Prevent Stillbirth 5. Support High-Risk Pregnancies By promoting institutional deliveries and reducing maternal mortality rates, Maternity Waiting Homes emerge as true champions of maternal and neonatal health. However, challenges such as ensuring quality care, gaining community acceptance, and securing adequate resources persist. Dive deeper into the impact of Maternity Waiting Homes and join me in spreading awareness for safer childbirth journeys! https://lnkd.in/eWqT_WQr https://lnkd.in/eXhn7cGp https://lnkd.in/etepyat8 https://lnkd.in/eAkfimqT

As we continue to see rapid advancements in healthcare, one area that remains underutilised is data-driven decision making in surgery. In many industries, data has already become the foundation for decision making - guiding strategies in finance, retail, and transportation. However, its adoption in the surgical space is still in its early stages. By integrating data analytics with robotic precision in surgery, we can provide surgeons with quantitative data that further enhances their ability to achieve optimal outcomes for patients and improve the overall efficiency of care. The potential to transform surgical practices through data is vast, and it's exciting to be at the forefront of this innovation at Convergence Medical. I’m optimistic that as technology continues to evolve, we’ll see broader adoption of data-driven surgery, improving not only patient care but also the well-being of healthcare professionals. Let’s continue the conversation around innovation and the future of healthcare. #HealthTech #SurgicalInnovation #DataDrivenSurgery #MedicalRobotics #HealthcareInnovation #HealthcareTransformation #RoboticSurgery

Sharing for all my friends and former classmates in the Hoosier State. This legislation can seriously set back healthcare in Indiana. The excerpt below is the best break down... TLDR: Let your policy makers know that HB1200 is a NO!!! "Price caps are never acceptable, and any rate setting by the government has immediate impacts on a hospital’s ability to continue providing vital services to Hoosiers who need them most. If House Bill 1200 moves forward, hospitals will have to cut more services, like essential obstetrics care, which is already at risk. Indiana lawmakers have rightfully prioritized lowering health care costs, and there’s a better path forward this session. House Bill 1393 would protect access to care in all communities throughout Indiana at no cost to the State – while also reducing the cost shift onto commercial insurance paid by employers – by increasing Medicaid reimbursement to Indiana hospitals, which are paid the lowest rates among all surrounding states. House Bill 1393 is the right solution for Indiana, and lawmakers should reject harmful proposals like House Bill 1200."
Don't let dangerous policy proposals in Indianapolis threaten state employees' access to health care. Reject HB 1200. Learn more: https://lnkd.in/gjs8Eujb
