calfordseaden is providing Employer's Agent and Quantity Surveying for Knights Road, part of the wider Blackbird Leys development. This phase of the development will comprise 84 new homes, all available for shared ownership. The purpose of this phase is to offer increased opportunities for young people to continue to reside locally and secure a place on the housing ladder. The scheme adopts Passivhaus principles and will achieve over a 60% reduction in regulated CO2 emissions compared to a Part L Building Regulations compliant baseline. As works continue, we look forward to sharing more updates on the progression of this project! Pile Foundations in Residential Construction: A Sustainable Solution In the evolving landscape of residential construction in Ireland, the use of pile foundations is gaining traction as a robust and sustainable solution for building on challenging sites. Why Choose Pile Foundations??? 1. Ground Stability: Pile foundations transfer loads to deeper, more stable soil layers, making them ideal for areas with weak or compressible soils. This is especially relevant in regions prone to flooding or subsidence. 2. Space Efficiency: Piles require less excavation than traditional foundations, preserving valuable land and minimizing disruption to the surrounding environment. 3. Sustainability: With increasing focus on eco-friendly building practices, pile foundations offer reduced material usage and lower carbon footprints compared to conventional methods. 4. Speed of Construction: Pile installation can often be completed quickly, allowing for faster project timelines without compromising safety or quality. Conclusion As we continue to address housing shortages and environmental concerns, adopting innovative foundation solutions like pile foundations is essential. By prioritizing stability, efficiency, and sustainability, we can pave the way for a resilient future in residential construction. Let’s lead the way in building smarter, more sustainable homes! #Construction #PileFoundations #Sustainability #IrishConstruction #ResidentialBuilding Wall Construction Services

When the weather gets warmer, reroofing projects are one of the first types of projects we begin. Many of the buildings and properties we manage cover a large square footage. This requires advanced preparation, ordering the correct materials, and scheduling technicians to complete the job on time. If you own a building, property, or other commercial real estate asset and you are concerned with the integrity of the roof, please reach out to us at 603-626-1900 or visit us online at www.irr-re.com. 📊 Part L and the Challenges of BREL Photo Reporting Recent findings from the Industry Viewfinder report have shed light on the challenges housebuilders are facing with the new Part L regulations. Unsurprisingly, BREL (Building Regulations England Part L) photo reporting is topping the list, with 21% of respondents citing it as a very challenging aspect of their work. This represents a significant shift in how construction progress needs to be monitored. 📌 Why does this matter? BREL photo reporting is a critical step toward bridging the gap between designed performance and actual building performance. While it introduces new complexities, it’s essential for ensuring long-term sustainability and compliance with energy efficiency standards. 🏗️ What can be done? Now more than ever, having a streamlined and consistent approach to evidence collection is crucial for housebuilders. Embracing methods that ensure accuracy, transparency, and accountability will help the industry meet these new demands while maintaining high-quality construction standards. #Housebuilding #ConstructionChallenges #PartL #EnergyEfficiency #ConstructionInnovation
