A progress update from Bishop Auckland Bus Station where Esh Construction is delivering a combined £8.2 million scheme for Durham County Council. Phase one of the enabling works is nearing completion which included: 🟢 Initial site clearance and building up road and paving levels to formation. 🟢 Completion of below ground main drainage systems. 🟢 Ground remediation works for the bus station building. A new substation has progressed, with the floor slab now cast, and the construction of the above-ground structure ongoing. Phase two build works are now underway and passers-by will see the steel frame structure take shape towards the end of the year.

The Tyne Bridge team are busy working overnight on the Newcastle Quayside to build the next phase of scaffold. It will look similar to that adjacent to the Gateshead tower, but will also include tunnels for traffic and pedestrians to use. #RestoringanIcon

A restored Georgian parkland will neighbour 44 executive homes at Homes by Esh’s latest development known as Havelock Park in Darlington. The Blackwell parkland restoration – which included forming a community orchard, planting new trees that are sympathetic to its origins, creating wildflower meadows and restoring the pond – is now complete and is being handed over to Darlington Borough Council. Trainee Quantity Surveyor, Bernard ‘Fredy’ Siewe, has joined Esh Construction as a degree apprentice after successfully completing a year out placement. Fredy joined Esh’s civil engineering division in Yorkshire 12 months ago and has worked on key active travel projects across Rotherham. He will now continue his academic development at Sheffield Hallam University while working on the M181 Southern Junction Roundabout in Scunthorpe. Kedward Avenue has been rewarded with The Bricks Site Recognition Award from LABC Warranty for the consistent quality of workmanship and site management shown 👏 Working in partnership with Thirteen Group, Esh is on site delivering 105 new homes in the Brambles Farm area of Middlesbrough. The £18 million development utilises modern methods of construction with all homes being built with a timber frame. Ten properties will also be built as ‘net zero-carbon’. Esh is recruiting its first ever Apprentice Drainage Network Operatives following the role being approved by IfATE (Institute for Apprenticeships and Technical Education). The apprenticeship is specially designed to train individuals in the delivery of reactive and planned repairs and maintenance on the wastewater network. The successful candidates will support Esh Construction’s delivery on the Ecosystem and Runway 1 frameworks for NWG (Northumbrian Water Group), in partnership with Jet Aire (DC) Ltd. Job completion ✅ Esh Construction has handed over Springmoor Grange School in Spennymoor! The new school includes 21 teaching classrooms, a nursery, a learning community suite, a library, office spaces, a staff room, toilet facilities, changing rooms, a hall, and dining and kitchen facilities. Photovoltaic (PV) panels have been installed on the roof which will allow the school to generate its own solar energy. We are committed to employing local and measure the outcomes across our sites using a Local Employment Monitoring (LEM) process. Throughout the scheme we have achieved the following outcomes: 🟢 89% of operatives were from the North East & Tees Valley. 🟢 17 apprentices worked on site equating to 171 apprentice weeks. 🟢 29 military veterans worked across the scheme.
