Navigating the complexities of aiding people in the present day is particularly demanding, given the pervasive challenges stemming from attitude and egoistic tendencies. In such a landscape, fostering a culture of compassion becomes imperative, encouraging not only assistance but also a collective commitment to addressing the root causes of these interpersonal issues. As we strive to help others, it becomes crucial to cultivate a societal environment that values humility, empathy, and open-mindedness, ultimately contributing to a more harmonious and supportive community.

VOA|ReST | Volunteers of America What is ReST; Resilience Strength Time? VOA|ReST is a free, confidential group process that supports #emotional #resilience in #people struggling with isolation, fatigue, frustration, anxiety, and a sense of inadequacy or failure. Sessions of up to ten participants are scheduled nearly every day, for an hour. People may attend alone or with others they trust. Are you struggling with mental health? Are you experiencing homelessness? If any of these questions resonate with you, I invite you to watch this talk. I spoke vulnerably to the Lighthouse Mission Ministries in Bellingham, Washington about my life story, mental health journey and the success that I have built since my diagnosis of Bipolar Disorder. I highlighted 5 components that have helped me continue to build momentum and finding success in my life to not be a victim to my circumstances but rather asking myself hard questions about how to be optimistic and changing my inner narrative about myself. The five components that I discussed include: 1. Develop self awareness 2. Confide in someone you trust 3. Take charge of your life 4. Accept change 5. Be patient for changes to come I drew from real life examples that have taught me these hard lessons.
