Great advice . Hard to reassure someone who needs ‘direction’ that this is a genuine and powerful approach to adopt . Most of my direct reports valued this approach, one did not. Seeing it as a weakness as they’d always been in a hierarchical , command and control culture and found this approach difficult to navigate . Inevitably I had to split my leadership style between the individuals and allow confidence to grow in the one who found it difficult . Sadly , they used it against me in feedback before we found a comfortable way through. I don’t actually believ they ever understood or valued the approach.
