A philanthropic legacy project in retirement focused on a circular economy. Mend It, Australia is a repair advocate and networker for Australia. It also advocates for Australian right to repair legislation.
Congratulations Jill Here are suggestions for consideration along the way. MiA & some others who attended the Australian Repair Network's Repair Roundtable are keen to see Victoria move from beyond recycling [refer Welsh Government's approach] Your appointment offers a fresh opportunity to move VIC beyond recycling to make more significant impact in the areas of reuse & repair. What was evident from the repair roundtable is that reuse & repair precincts will create jobs in repair, refurbishment, and related industries, as well as upskill workers in the manufacturing and repair sectors. These precincts could incubate and support small repair businesses and social enterprises, fostering local economies and community resilience. Existing, underutilized spaces (like old industrial sites or community centers) could be converted into repair and reuse hubs, maximizing resource efficiency. And there are collaboration opportunities with local councils, educational institutions, and community organizations to integrate these precincts with broader urban planning and community development efforts. At the heart of TBRP's inception lies a profound realisation. We recognised the unmet needs of landowners seeking to commercialise their lands but lacking the roadmap to do so effectively. It was this gap that fueled our determination to step in and make a difference. We understood that it's not just about having the means or skills; it's about using them purposefully. Landowners needed more than a one-size-fits-all approach. They deserved tailored solutions that resonated with their unique visions. Our commitment extended beyond mere transactions. It was about establishing meaningful connections on a personal level, listening attentively to understand their aspirations, and collaborating to chart a clear path forward. TBRP's journey began with the belief that success isn't measured solely by our achievements but by the positive impact we make in empowering landowners. We harnessed our expertise, resources, and dedication to guide landowners through the maze of commercialising their land, ensuring that their dreams align with prosperous outcomes. Join us at TBRP, where our journey started with a purpose - to empower landowners and navigate the landscape of commercialisation together. Let's craft a success story that resonates with your land's potential!
